    • VAN conversion: READ THIS. You need new regulator!
This is a nice stove. It's setup for propane, BUT - the regulator that comes with it is NOT suitable for normal "gas grill" 20lb tanks. You need to use a regular old gas grill regulator or an adjustable high pressure regulator. Also, the screw fitting coming out of the stove is a strange size. Be absolutely sure you have the right fitting going on to it or you will have dangerous leaks. This adapter should work: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XKWTNN0/. G Thread 1/2" Female to NPT Thread 1/2" Male Pipe Fitting Adapter I had to use a few adapters to get it to work, but it DOES work, and it's a nice stove.     • a bit tricky to hook up
Tricky to hook up the gas. Ended up using a 5/8 yellow gas line connector kit. It seems like it will take a 1/2 inch MIP but be careful it will only thread on 1/2 turn. Also it takes a d cell to create the spark, so that has to be maintained over time.

Easy to install provided you get the right connectors and plumbers tape used properly. The only complaint is that the screws for the backing plates were missing from the order. No big deal because surely they size is specified somewhere? Nope! Simple enough, call for the specified size to prevent having to but a variety pack of metric screws. They were responsive as they could be (3 days for what should have been a simple answer) but unfortunately what they told me, M4 20mm was incorrect. They were wrong and now i have to go and by the variety pack and figure it out myself ... show more

I just transferred to my new apartment and needed to replace some of my kitchen stuff. I love the new cooktop that I chose, it looks elegant in actual. The materials used are of high-quality, which makes me happy.

    • Needed to replace the regulator to get it to work
I connected the regulator directly to the stove with arrow pointing toward the stove (the direction the gas flows) no gas flowed. I removed the regulator and blew air through it and it would lock up immediately. Went to hardware store and got a generic regulator for a gas grill and it worked right away. Overpriced for what it is but not much else available in this configuration. Use lots of teflon on your fittings and apply soap to find leaks, the 1/2" NPT male connector from the stove required a lot of tape to keep it from bubbling. ... show more

after 8 years of match light stovetops.... this is as good as it looks Solid- easily cleans and comes with extra knobs and batteries and a regulator if you need it.... I will order again for my outside kitchen
