This garter belt is the real deal, and it's all about daily stocking wearing. It offers perfect firm (not extra firm) compression on her waistline. Perfect fit! Having said this, it's a shame that Rago has cheapened the quality of garters these days. They're not like what they provided 10-15 years ago (or longer than that!) These new garters are rubber, not old-fashioned cloth with hard plastic buttons. These cheap rubber buttons deflect or deform under the relentless tension of non-stretch 100% nylon stockings, making it a very frustrating chore to fasten the stockings. If we're lucky enough to get the rear garters fastened, the likelihood of them coming lose (always at the wrong time/place) is quite high. So, minus one star for cheap garters - we will replace the garters with better garters we bought from an online corset maker. That said, this is a wonderful-fitting, comfortable belt which does stay put, even against the all-day tug of non-stretch stockings. It's made with high quality sewing, great paneling and seams, and the garter straps are of high quality; the garters? Not as good as the rest of the belt. ... show more

I have two of these that I alternate wearing pretty much on Sundays only. While I really do love the fit (yes, the sizing is strange - order to your measurements), I have two complaints. First off, the "adjustable" straps don't stay where you put them. They slide down to their full length while you're wearing. Highly annoying when you have longer stockings that need to be cinched up as tight as you can (elephant ankles anyone?). I've tried everything short of sewing them in place and nothing works. My MAJOR complaint is that one of the rubber parts that helps to hold the clip to your stocking on a back clip literally just broke off! Didn't rip, just came off the clip itself. Not cool. For this price and the amount of times worn with just mostly sitting in a church pew, this should NOT have happened. Thankfully, I still have the other one. ... show more

I really loved it when I first got it. Then I tried to wear it with a smooth dress. You can basically see the entire shape of the garter belt. Every line, buckle, and strap. I was self conscious about it the whole time, which is not something I was expecting with something as sexy/useful as this. It did keep my stockings in check, though, so it works in that sense. It might look better under a form fitting or textured dress. It fit as expected and it seems to be good quality. I think that the snugness is necessary or else it may not do its job: hold your stockings up, stay on your waist etc, but because of that, it looks a bit stretched out since I have worn it several times. Also I have a slim waist and wider hips so maybe that's why it stretched out a bit. It may have been too big if I has sized up. Anyways, I'm glad I bought it because I like stockings better than tights, but I will always be a bit self conscious worrying that it is showing through my dress. ... show more

    • Really high quality - they run VERY small! Wife wears size 8 jeans, 140 lbs, has 31" waist, the XL was way too small.

Bought for the wife who is VERY much into the retro/rock-a-billy pin-up style clothing and lingerie, and this is a high quality piece - BUT, the sizing is way off. These run VERY small. Wife has a 31" waist, wears size 8 jeans, weighs 140 pounds, so we ordered an XL since the stated size said that had a 32" waist band. Simply put, it's cutting her in half - if she wears it much lower than it's intended to be worn, there's not as much of an issue, but, that defeats the retro styling of this one and even then, the extremely unforgiving waist band is digging in pretty hard. We will order the XXL for her and see how that fits, as it's a great looking belt and the quality is very high - just be aware, if you're over 140 pounds, you might want to order the XXL - if you're over 140 pounds at any waist measurement, I cannot imagine this belt will fit you without creating the biggest muffin top you've ever seen. ... show more

I have a black 6 strap with a satin finish and this has a dull finish. I wish the material was similar to the black, but it is definitely a quality piece. I've had the black 6 strap for 6 years of near-daily wear and it looks as good as it did on day one. Rago makes lovely and durable lingerie. This piece is no different. The size that I had ordered was an XL/32 in style 72522. This is a high waist garter belt by Rago New York (You may have difficulty if you are use to using low waist garters.) The band is quite small and has a slight stretch that allows expansion in the hips. My figure is wide and having a larger back does not create any issues with wearing (for those with big booties.) My hips move up with an hourglass waist, so this size is personally more comfortable. One strap was not properly sewn down, which may give after a few weeks requiring slight additional sewing. The overall construction of the belt is very nice, you may wish to order an XXL if they have it in stock. Any size below an XL is going to be very small.
