Works with nearly any protocol via the software that allows you to add additional frequency protocols and has the ability to program multiple different models so can switch to whatever model you are flying or controlling very easily and has a nano external bay to add additional transmitters to the controller. This controller is advertised as accepting “standard 18650” batteries, but in my experience standard-length 18650 cells do not fit safely. Installing them required unreasonable force, and the battery fitment/design creates a real risk of damaging the cell wrapper/terminal, which is exactly how lithium cells become dangerous. In my case, forcing the install damaged the controller’s battery contact/terminal, the unit slipped, and the antenna broke. Worse: the 18650 ruptured/ignited, causing burns and a serious safety incident. I’m writing this so someone else doesn’t get hurt. What frustrates me most is that this product has been out for years and this battery-fit problem seems widely known, yet the listings and product messaging still feel vague about what “18650 compatible” actually means (length, protected vs unprotected, button-top vs flat-top, etc.). If it only works with shorter proprietary cells, then it should say so clearly and the batteries should be included, or the design should be revised. Also: a lot of reviews and influencer coverage praise this controller, but many skip a clear warning about the battery requirement. I wish reviewers would state battery specs explicitly instead of assuming buyers will discover it the hard way. Bottom line: I cannot recommend this. If you buy it anyway, do not assume your existing 18650s are safe to use. Verify the exact required specs first.

This is awesome to throw in a backpack. The sticks are removable and store in the handle. The ELRS is a little low powered but I have not had any problems with the ranges I use it for.
