  • Well built, inside and out
Style: SPA-780N White (WIFI) Color: Odor Remover
This is my second minus A2 now, this new one I got is the SPA780N which has the app support. Since most of the other reviews went over all the general information, here is a quick gist: This is one of the top of the line air purifiers on the market, made in Korea, not china, and is one of the only air purifiers that is wall mountable. In addition, it uses a brushless motor, this alone sets it apart from other top tier brands since everybody else uses brushed motors. A brushed motor has a definite limited lifespan as the carbon blocks wear out due to friction, rabbit air uses brushless motors which lasts longer (in order or magnitudes) and is more efficient. The big shocker: I took it apart, just because I am a curious person, and saw that they used a very high quality Panasonic brushless motor. This was icing on the cake on an very well built air purifier, a motor that 99.999% of the customers won't ever see and they chose to use top tier motor rather than some generic Chinese one. Little details like foam gaskets on the filters, magnetic closing mechanism for the latch, and even the pleasant chime goes a long way in making the high price worth it. The verdict is, if you have the money, you should very much get this because an air purifier is something that is run 24/7, might as well get the best. The app itself while being version 1 works well, no bugs to report yet. ... show more

  • No more smells!
Style: SPA-780A White Color: Germ Defense
I was a little nervous about dropping this much money for an air purifier, but it was the only one I found that covered a reasonable square footage. I planned to use this for my whole condo, not just one room. I have about 1200 square feet. I’ve mounted it to the wall in my living room, which is open concept to the kitchen, dining room, and front hallway. It doesn’t really get my bedrooms, which are in the back, but I didn’t expect it too. I have 2 dogs, a cat, and was worried that there would be pet odors. Since getting this purifier, people have actually commented as to how fresh it smells in my place. And that the air feel lighter. I have the germ filter, although I don’t know what the difference is between what the filters do. I’m not sure it entirely makes a difference. I can really see how hard the machine works when I cook dinner. The purifier doesn’t like any kinds of smells, so when I cook dinner, it freaks out a little bit and will run on high until all of the cooking odors are gone. I’ve had this machine for a month and am absolutely loving it. I don’t regret my purchase at all. I would also recommend it to anyone who asks. ... show more

  • So close to worth it
Style: SPA-780N Black (WIFI) Color: Pet Allergy
This is my second Rabbit Air. I've had my original one for a very long time, but I've decided that the ability to schedule the air cleaner was worth purchasing a new one. I was able to resell my old one for about half the cost of the new one, so win there! However, the smart home features of the new model are close to useful, but not quite there. 1. It doesn't hold onto the settings if you lose power. It takes me a few days to notice that the air cleaner isn't running while I'm not at home to then go in and reset all the settings. 2. The schedule is a list of slider bars which change as you try to scroll to see the lower bars, unless you can tap just exactly right on the edge to scroll but not trigger a change. 3. You can't set different schedules for different days of the week. I would have liked being able to have a weekend schedule different then the week day schedule. 4. You can't get and graphs of the air quality over time, which is super disappointing to me, however didn't weigh into my rating. While 1-3 are still problems, I can't say the upgrade cost is worth it to existing owners. ... show more

  • Wish it worked as well as it looks... Does not perform as advertised - BUYER BEWARE!!!
Style: SPA-700A Color: Odor Remover
If you are purchasing this unit for its claim that it "traps and reduces odors from... cigarettes and cigars" then you are best looking for an alternative product. We purchased this unit (and the associated "smoke-filter") for use in one of our employee's offices post construction - he likes to smoke, we tried to get him to quit, but whatever.... Anyways, the Rabbit Air was advertised as the perfect solution to our problem. We didn't really care about the smoke smell in the room, but we wanted to prevent it from permeating out to our associates' cubicles. After viewing the video of this unit absolutely destroying a smoke filled room (in a good way) we thought we had found the perfect solution. We purchased the unit in anticipation of our office being completed in a couple months time, but you know how construction projects go... Anyways, I digress.... A few months later we finally had our office complete, and were ready to put this beast of an air purified to work! We installed the sleek and sexy unit on the wall by the employee's office door, slapped in the special "smoke-filter", and asked our employee to give his new office a test/break-in smoke. He lit up his cigarette and almost immediately the Rabbit Air leaped into action. The blue "mood" light turned red, indicating that particulates had been detected, and the fans/motor kicked into high-gear. We were elated, and extremely happy with our purchase, so we stepped out for a bit to continue putting together the rest of the office. Our elation doesn't last long, however, as we soon begin to notice the smell of cigarette smoke permeating our new office space. We figured we had just set the unit up wrong (even though it's extremely simple) so we took it down and put it back together again. This time we decided to leave it sitting on his desk, this way it would be right next to the smoke-source and ashtray. We opened all the windows in our office building and waited for the smoke smell to dissipate. We then tried test #2, and the results were exactly the same - with the only difference being that we witnessed the unit inhaling ~90% of the smoke as it left our employee's mouth/cigarette, and then shooting ~50% of it out the sides. We figured it was a filter problem, so we ordered a variety of different filters to try and mitigate the issue - we even had the unit on permanent "turbo mode". Unfortunately the problem persisted, and after months of testing/waiting for new filters/testing/waiting etc we eventually decided to cut our losses and switch over to an industrial solution. The industrial unit we purchased, while 3x more expensive, performs 3000x better than the Rabbit did at its best. With no use for the Rabbit unit, as it was either defective or simply didn't perform as advertised, we initiated a return request. Almost immediately Rabbit responded with return shipping instructions and a pre-paid shipping label. While disappointed with the product, we couldn't ask for better customer service. But then a few days later, after I had already prepped the package for return, I get a call from a blocked/unknown number. Not sure who it is, I answer hesitantly, only to be greeted by a Rabbit Air representative informing me that they had made the decision to no longer accept my return, and that they would be cancelling the shipping label they sent out. Talk about poor customer service... Their rationale? The refund was requested past the "90-day Money Back Guarantee", so they were no longer obligated to take back the unit. The problem? The unit sat for months as we awaited completion of our new offices. So yes, while it had been outside the "90-day" guarantee, the unit had not been operational for more than 60 before we decided enough is enough and to move on. Rabbit understood the issue I was facing, and even went so far as to state that others had similar situations and they were willing to work with those individuals, but, (because of how far outside the 90-day window I was) they would not be willing to work with me any further, and that my only recourse would be to write this review warning others of their deceptive advertising practices. They wouldn't even be open to offering a discounted return, or coupons for discounts on future filter purchases should I decide to give the unit another try. Really really poor customer service in this particular instance. --- IF YOU ARE PURCHASING THIS UNIT TO MANAGE TOBACCO SMOKE YOU ARE SETTING YOURSELF UP FOR AN EXPENSIVE DISAPPOINTMENT --- Learn from my mistakes and go with an industrial solution. This unit may be sleek and sexy, but to me it's a $600 energy wasting brick... ... show more
