Great value! This pie crust shield is perfect, it fits just right around a 12" pizza pan and can adjust to a smaller size for pies. In the second picture you can see the previous pie crust shield I was using. It was too narrow and wouldn't cover the whole edge it also would easily fall off of the crust at just a touch of the pan. My quiche takes almost an hour in the oven. Its full of meat, veggie and cheese filling but by the time the filling is set, the crust has always been burnt. These are easy to use and will fit on ANY sized pie plate/tin. The silicone is easy to wash in warm, soapy water and leave to air dry. Regardless of the fact that they have regular openings around the edge to "lock" the strip in place, they never held for me. I have glass pie pans with side handles at the top. I have never been able to figure out how to keep these protectors in place, no matter what configuration I tried. You might have better luck if you have different pie pans., but I'm not gonna buy new pans just to use these. ... show more

Is have been using this gadget for years. If you bake a pie from scratch or cook a premade pie crust from the freezer, this is a fantastic tool to use. Simply lay the silicone strip over the outer edge of pie and you will not over cook the crust edge. It allows you to focus on other things instead of babysitting a pie. Normally, you have to use foil to protect the crust from scorching. I buy these and give them to new cooks who have not seen this product. I just gave 5 of them away. Great idea for the price.
