I bought this particular cable organizer for two primary reasons: 1, I did not want a permanent attachment that would deface my desk (it has a leather top so I didn't; want something that screwed into the top) and 2, the tray had to be low enough to accommodate the drawers that come with the desk. Some of the cable organizers I saw assume a simpler "tabletop" configuration, and would not accommodate my drawers. This unit did everything I needed it to. The tray is low enough so that it could just barely fit my drawer (a half-inch longer would have been even better though), and the attachment mechanism allows multiple desktop thicknesses. Now instead of a surge protector/outlet expander, and lots of cars, my desktop is much less messy, and there are fewer wires hanging down behind it. ... show more
