This has a lot of cute project ideas. The main selling point here is the battery-powered slotted tool. Advantages: larger & easier to hold than standard slotted tools (great for kids, perhaps also helpful for arthritis, carpal tunnel, etc.?), also it grabs the paper & spins it into a tight coil in milliseconds -- simple projects like the ones they show here take mere minutes. It's insane. Super fast; too clunky for detail work though, but great for stuff like this! I took up quilling a few weeks ago and just received this kit. It is marvelous for beginners. I love the Super Quiller. I am an occupational therapist and am always looking for easy instructional activities. I bought a second set for 2 of my young grandkids other grandmother and grandfather who will be watching them for 10 days and even though they are not old enough to actually do the quilling, their grandparents might be able to hold their attention by making enchanting projects. A very nice kit, with lots of strips and a pretty good instruction and project book. However, this craft is not easy. It takes a lot of dexterity so I don't recommend it for small children. My 12 year old granddaughter found it difficult, and so did I. So just be aware it is going to require some time and patience to master. ... show more

It was difficult to open the pen because the screw was already stripped. We eventually got it open but will likely only be able to use until new batteries are needed. 11 year old grand daughter you had a little trouble working it, but she said she liked it anyway.
