The 25W-40 Synthetic blend marine engine oil has been more difficult to come by in stores lately. If you're out on the water frequently, the Synthetic Blend will last longer and offer better performance than the mineral oil. Synthetic oils stick to metal parts better than mineral oils...they also offer better corrosion resistance and have higher flash points, meaning it will take higher temps to burn up synthetic oils compared to mineral. Last but not least, synthetic oils offer more superior lubrication, so your engine will actually run cooler on a synthetic blend vs a straight mineral oil.
