Top Amazon Reviews

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

Most customers appear to love the taste of these protein bars, highlighting the cookies and cream flavor that resembles an Oreo cookie. However, there were mixed reviews regarding digestibility, with some users finding the bars a bit heavy to digest and others recommending not eating them right before a workout due to a bloating feeling. One user found the bars to be hard and tough to bite, but overall they have been described as a good source of protein that could be used as a meal replacement.

Pros

  • 🍪 Great taste resembling Oreo cookies
  • 💪 Good source of protein
  • 🔄 Can be used as a meal replacement
  • 🥦 Contains high fiber content

Cons

  • 🧪 Contains a "bio-engineered" ingredient (possible GMO)
  • 🪵 Hard and tough to bite for some users
  • 🎈 Can cause bloating or heaviness in digestion
  • 🍬 Some users found them to be overly sticky/chewy

Should I Buy It?

If you're looking for a protein bar that tastes good and can potentially replace meals, and you don't mind a potential bloating feeling or chewiness, this could be a good choice for you. However, bear in mind that it may contain GMOs. If you have issues with digestion, you may want to eat it a few hours before a workout rather than right before.

  • Protein, Fiber and Taste
Flavor Name: Cookies And Cream
The Quest Cookies and Cream protein bar is packed with 21g of protein, 13 g of fiber, only 1 g of sugar, 190 calories and a pleasant taste. The bar is a little harder than cookie dough but is still soft and chewy. It is not as sweet as cookie dough but still tastes somewhat sweet and more like a treat than a high protein, high fiber product. Quest accomplishes the good taste without all the sugar by using the sugar alcohol Erythritol. Erythritol has been shown to be safe as it is excreted from the body in an unchanged form and is less likely to upset the digestive tract as it goes through the bloodstream and is excreted in urine rather than being passed through the digestive tract where other sugar alcohols can be fermented, resulting in digestive issues. Additionally, Erythritol does not result in increases in blood sugar and insulin (important for diabetics or those trying to lose weight or with insulin resistance). The ingredients indicate that these bars contain almonds. I can't digest nuts or legumes, however I don't taste the nuts and have not had any issues with digesting these bars, which has made me happy, because almonds have a number of nutritional benefits, but I'm guessing the amount present is probably pretty small, although they rank relatively high on the ingredient list. In terms of the proteins and fiber, Quest uses a blend of milk protein isolate and whey protein isolate, which has been shown to have a good yield and blend of amino acids. The fiber is in the form of polydextrose, a common prebiotic fiber. Overall, Quest has found a formula to make a tasty nutrition bar that is both high in protein and high in fiber (a benefit that most protein bars don't include), while being very low in sugar. Nutritionally these bars seem to offer a lot of benefits as well as being a tasty treat. ... show more

  • One of the healthiest protein bars I found
Flavor Name: Cookies And Cream
This protein bar is packed with good amount of protein and fiber, and it tastes so nice. Honestly, I'd like it more if it came with less artificial sweetness from stevia, but that's only a minor rant.

  • Good for healthy eating, but don't expect it to taste like dessert!
Flavor Name: Cookies And Cream
Lately I have been trying to get my diet back on track and these bars are a good, low calorie way to stave off morning hunger and save my calories for larger portions at lunch and dinner. I see others have critiqued the taste, and I will say that I don't considered these to be delicious (whether bought in store or online...), but they are not horribly terrible and I feel like the nutritional value and other "pros" makes them worth having in the house: Pros: - High protein, low calorie, low sugar option. I have used as a staple in my morning routine when trying to lose weight (almost 10 pounds since the beginning of the year!). - Convenient on the go. I have eaten these at work (work-from-home and in office), while driving, golfing, while walking dogs, working out, etcs. Definitely the easiest way to get quick nutrition. - Value. cheaper than most other breakfast-type/meal supplement options at <$2 per bar (SEE TIP #3 BELOW). - Routine - encourages me to drink more water (SEE TIP #1 BELOW). Neutral: - Taste. I definitely don't crave these (which is probably a good thing when counting calories!) but don't find it a chore to eat one either. (SEE TIP #2 BELOW) Cons: - I won't eat these if I don't have water available (SEE TIP #1 BELOW). Tips: -Have a full bottle of water available while eating! I will never eat one without having water available. The bars are pretty chewy/dry, so the water makes them much more tolerable. -Cookies and Cream seems to be most "exciting" (ie. tolerable) -Try before you buy in bulk! At many grocery stores (target, sprouts, safeway) its possible to find individual bars. They may be slightly more expensive, but try one at a time until you know whether you like them before committing $20+ to a 12-pack that you may find inedible. As others have mentioned the online packs may taste a bit different (though I didn't notice...) so consider that too if you are on the fence about buying in bulk. ... show more

  • Favorite protein bar with best taste
Flavor Name: Cookies And Cream
The Quest Bar line are the absolute best tasting bars I have tried in the protein bar matket and I've tried many. 21g if protein is great as well . Highly recommend these bars for those who are always on the run with work, school and children.

  • Taste great - just drink a ton of water with or after eating one
Flavor Name: Cookies And Cream
Like most Quest products I've had, they taste pretty good and I'm sated after the fact. Doesn't taste like a medicinal, metallic protein bar, and has fewer carbs and added sugar compared to others. That being said, they are a bit dry and chewy, which I like, and require a good 8-12oz of water.
