I bought an aftermarket charging stand and it was worthless. Had to plug in my headset and auxiliary battery separately, didn't sit correctly in the charger so half the time it didn't even work, had to have special battery doors for the controllers. It was a struggle constantly to keep everything charged. This charger is a dream. I just put it on there and in an hour or less, it's fully charged, controllers and all, and ready to go. I've had this charging dock for approximately 3 weeks. Yes, it's a bit pricey, still glad I got it. It's been working fine for me. It has a low profile and sits nicely on a shelf under my TV. I saw one review that said it has no cord. It does come with a cord (which is inside a smaller box where the batteries are), but no charging block so if you're not plugging it into a USB port you will need a charging block. The Quest hand controllers need to go on the correct side of the dock (right on right and left on left) or they won't charge. If you put the controllers on the wrong sides the lights will blink from amber to green, amber to green repeatedly. There is a white protective strip covering the lights that needs to be removed. I know this sounds obvious; I only mention it because I thought I saw a review that said there are no lights & I wondered if they left the protective paper on by accident. There are 3 lights along the bottom...they are amber when charging and then turn green when the controllers and headset are charged. I don't have any problem seating the headset. Occasionally, I will place the headset and don't get it lined up correctly, but I just tip the headset forward slightly and then it always lines right up. I only have the original straps that come with the Quest so I can't say if there is a problem charging the controllers with the comfort straps on. Looks good, charges efficiently. Yes it does not come with a power brick but you can still use the 18w plug provided with your meta quest 3. You can opt in for a 45w one from anker which is fairly affordable and get the max charging benefits of this as I do. The headset platform leans forward and back to accommodate for the battery head strap. Also, I did how ever have an issue with one of the remote batteries but I fixed it by pushing the reset button on the battery itself in a tiny hole similar to a cim card hole. The battery does not seem to hold charge and is an issue so I’m issuing a replacement Other than that great! Recommend. **Will update after I receive replacement**. Update: I got my replacement and everything works as it should now. No complaints. Handles the charge well and also charges my external battery.     • Poorly engineered, missing parts
This is one of the most frustrating pieces of engineering I've experienced in a while. It just doesn't charge well. You don't "click" the headset in, you need it to balance at exactly the right angle. If you have a 3rd party strap (which is pretty much required) game over. It will not balance. The slightest gust of wind will knock it out of alignment, causing it to stop charging. The charging setup for the controllers works, but could be so much better. They can't be just dropped into some cylinders. You have to gently balance them in their cradles. What a terrible approach. Icing on the cake? Doesn't even come with a wire. You have to use the one that comes with the quest unit. Lazy. Returning. As others have said: * missing a power adapter * if you use any head strap besides the default terrible strap, this thing will not support the quest unit well enough for it to charge! This definitely makes it easier to charge the Quest 3. And unlike some other 3rd party options this doesn't use the USB-C port on the side, so it will charge the headset and extra battery strap at the same time. Plus, it replaces the battery in the controllers with rechargeable ones. Now everything can be %100 every time I go to play for maximum play times! There is a premium price on this as compared to the others but for me it was well worth it. Side note: it works perfect with the Meta hand straps and the elite head-band w/ battery. ... show more

    • Quality control issues?
Used mine a few times since I got the docking station and one of the batteries seems to be having an issue. Thought it was the controller itself at first, but when I tried a normal battery? Presto, no more disconnecting controller. The rechargeable batteries were fully charged. For the price I'd expect better quality control. Returned this for a replacement. I hope the replacement doesn't have the issue. ... show more

    • These reviews seem a bit over the top...
So I bit the bullet and got this despite the many reviews claiming that it is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to charge your Quest 3 in this. That doing so with a third-party strap is literally the devil and that you will become insane trying to make it work. OK. So I got it anyway because it looks damn good, let's be real. And I held my breath while I placed the parts into the charging slots and...IT WORKED! OMG was it magic? No, it's pretty simple actually. I then replaced the strap with a third party one and expected everything to go straight to hell! But...again, the mask snapped right into place and began charging. Go figure. Long story short, I love this thing. It does what it's supposed to do and looks very cool doing it. I DO however think that it is WILDLY overpriced and that meta should do better on that front.
