This thing is solid!!! It was very heavy to get up the stairs the our guest room. It is a beautiful piece of furniture. I was a little wary because of the negative reviews about installing it. It did take me a while to install it, mostly because I did most of it on my own. I would recommend getting at least one person to help with the entire thing. The pieces are heavy, but that's a good thing, it's sturdy. The only part i messed up on was putting one of the sliders on backwards. I had to undo parts to fix it and it was a pain. I would lay everything out and use a little common sense to make sure to sliders are going out. Other than that, it was just strength and time needed to put it together. The product arrived in three boxes on the same day, which I was relieved about since the listing warns they may arrive separately. Shipping was also faster than predicted. Two boxes weighed approximately 105–110 lbs each, and the third was roughly half that. Getting these boxes into my home and maneuvering them by myself was challenging. If you're in a similar situation, plan ahead have a dolly, ask a neighbor, or a strong friend to help you get the boxes inside. I spread the process across three days: Day 1: Received the boxes, brought everything inside, unpacked all pieces, and organized them in my build area. I was pleased with how well everything was protected. A couple of pieces had minor surface scratches, but none were on any visible surface of the finished product. This took about 1 hour. Day 2: Broke down boxes for recycling and bagged Styrofoam for trash ( I packed six large garbage bags). I started the build and spent 8 hours completing steps 1–37, including breaks for lunch and dinner. Day 3: Two additional hours to complete steps 38–50. Total build time: approximately 10 hours with no assistance. The instruction manual is 59 pages and walks you through approximately 62 steps. It is detailed and clear, you just need patience and organization. All the hardware was nicely packed and labelled. I strongly recommend having a drill; it saved me significant time and effort. As the build progresses the furniture gets heavier and harder to maneuver, but with patience, breaks, and hydration I completed it entirely by myself. 100% Honesty, if I had to do it again I would hire someone to build it for me. The finished product is beautiful. The quality looks and feels solid, and I'm very happy with how it fits my space. I purchased a 6" queen tri-fold mattress separately and it fits the storage compartment perfectly. For reference, the interior mattress compartment measures approximately 60¾" wide × 28¼" tall × 21¼" deep. I am happy with this purchase and hope it is long-lasting and that my guests feel comfortable sleeping in it. ... show more

I would’ve given this product a five star, but my time is valuable, and it took a full EIGHT hours to put together. I used power tools rather than the tool in the box, so it would actually take longer if one was to try to tackle this project with only hand tools. That said, the finished product is strong, sturdy, and nice looking. Worth the money, and time, but just know what you’re getting yourself into prior to beginning. Am so pleased with this bed. Took one person about 8 hours to put it together. It’s sturdy and materials were durable. Nothing flimsy. It doesn’t look like a bed put together from a kit. This thing took about three sessions of 2-3 hours to build. Very sturdy product, but not the easiest to build. Everyone is impressed with it and it works well. Has two storage areas. One above where we put tri-fold mattress and the cabinet below is for the sheets and pillow. Great option for infrequent guests. ... show more

This is press board so be very careful when putting it together. It was delivered in two boxes. Came with manual directions every thing was marked with an alpha or numbered and pre drilled and they did give some extra parts which helped still took us all day to put together keep in mind we are seniors.
