I bought a pair of memory foam pillows a year or so ago and they were always too firm. I finally decided to open them up and take a closer look. Luckily they had zippers on both the outer and inner liner so I removed nearly a full kitchen garbage bag of fill (I wish I were kidding) and they were still quite firm. What to do with the fill?? Make more pillows!! I bought these shells with a zipper in the end and used a good portion of that leftover fill to make my son a new pillow. With the leftover covers I'll freshen up some of the other ones or maybe make one more full pillow. The shell material is pretty soft. I haven't washed them yet but they're not crinkly or have any unusual smells so I'd call that a win.

The first time I purchased these they were cotton. The second time I purchased these I checked the ad, they were still listed ass being cotton. But when I washed them for the first time a couple of months later, they didn’t wash like cotton. They get pilly and the fabric is very stiff. Using these under a cotton pillow case, these make pillows scratchy. My skin has always been delicate and if I sleep on my stomach with my face on the pillow, my face is raw the next morning and my eyes are rubbed red by the pillow. I recently tried another brand of pillow protector that is cotton and found that I do not have the same results. No, I don’t like silk pillow cases. I prefer cotton. Good cotton sheets and linens are silky and cold when you get into bed, but they warm up quickly in cold weather, they let your skin breathe because they aren’t made of plastic like microfiber, and they are soft against the skin. I’m sorry to say that I’m donating these to the thrift store. Two are unused. The first set was good. The second I purchased isn’t a good fit for me.

I bought these as I have a sever allergy issue in the spring,summer and fall time. I sometimes will break out from some of irritants that arise when the seasons change, sometime the allergies get so bad they show a small rash under my eye and these help or complete take that away when you use these. Pillows harbor dust and skin cells, and even when you wash it once a month or more it still can be inside the pillow, so all in all these pillow guards are the best thing to have, especially when me and my husband camp. 5 start!

....They are that good! These cases have a good zipper, half cotton, they hold your pillows snugly, but not too tight so the pillows do not slide around and are very soft like hotel cases. I got the striped ones and they are so nice, I could use them as pillow cases, not protectors. I got the 4 pack for $11.99 and received immediately. Highly recommend and will order more!
