Having acquired a love of tenpin bowling, under the influence of my father, who was in a league for several years, I figured it was time to get my own gear. In addition to the 10, 12 and 15-pound balls I had (as many of us serious amateurs tend to get multiple balls of various weights for differing shots), I needed a 16-pounder for to complete the lineup, considering I am a rather strong woman. I will say right off the bat that it is best to have these balls custom-drilled at a pro-shop, where you can be measured, depending on your needs. For heavier balls such as this one, it is highly recommended that you have a slug in the thumb hole for a more comfortable grip, such as I have done with this one, as well as my 15-pounder. Do all of this, and rolling it should be much more comfortable. In my experience of using this one, I have been able to roll some pretty good hammers (if you didn't know, a hammer is a strike in which the pins all go down really fast upon the ball making contact). Other than that, it handles comfortably, and is best if rolled a bit from the side, and with allowing gravity to do most of the work, as it does hook just a little bit. Unable to give real use review. The ball is for a non-verbal adult with special needs. She uses a ramp and I know nothing about bowling. However, the ball is really shiny and purple is her favorite color so I am very happy with this purchase.
