I read in the Wood Database that this wood doesn't glue up well, but I have never had an issue. Do as little routing as possible with this--like don't route a handle for a charcuterie board from it, or the lengthwise cut for a juice groove--it is subject to router tear out. But, it is beautiful wood!!! Some reviews state in order to get a deep purple, you need "special" additional treatment. Not so. I used Food Safe mineral oil on the board only.
