    • My skinny adult cat eats in hope to stop losing his weight.

My senior kidney cat lost interest in eating and losing weight. It's been a while this way and I honestly don't hope that he would gain dramatically from any foods or supplements. What I am hoping it that he won't lose any more. He can still ran fast and jump to a certain height, and my vet is OK that I wouldn't force him eat any of those kidney formulas. He already lost much interest in his favorite foods and I cannot get him suffer more by forcing him the foods he dislikes. These kitten foods have more fat in them and even with the small amount he eats it probably help him with his weight maintenance. I recently found that he likes Catsip milk. Since this discovery his meal time is much better. He no longer comes to his food bowls, so I bring his food to wherever he is and show him a small bowl of milk for later. I know the kitten food has about 90 cal per can. He eats about 1/3 of the can ( 2 oz) in the morning, then gets 2 oz of milk as a reward. That is 30 cal of food and another 20 cal of milk to start his day. He also gets calorie booster gel each day (another 20) , and end his day with the same morning menu, consuming about 120 cal a day. before the kitten food and milk, he was only consuming 80-90 cal a day, so it is a improvement. For his 7 LB weight he needs 140 a day, so I am hoping he will continue to eat this kitten food and increase his appetite to finish a whole can a day some day. He likes it when I microwave a little bit. It stinks, but that's the smell cats love. ... show more

I have a 16-week-old kitten, Loki, and the vet said it was good to give her some wet food along with the dry so I purchased some Fancy Feast. Wow, it's like kitty crack! The minute I take a can out of the box she is trying to crawl up my leg in anticipation! I generally give her one can a day, at nighttime. I give her dry kitten food during the day. The morning after I gave her the Fancy Feast, I gave Loki her "usual" breakfast of Purina Kitten Chow. She rushed over to her food bowl, sniffed it, put her nose up in the air and walked away!! I laughed and said "be that way... you're not getting any Fancy Feast 'til tonight." After about a half hour she gave up and reluctantly ate her dry food. It's been a few weeks and we now have a good routine going. As you can see from the picture, her favorite resting spot is in the pantry lying on a box next to the Fancy Feast. I also got her the Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers, but she much prefers this turkey formula. She's a very happy kitty! ... show more

Behold! I checked out the ingredients on our recent shipment, and the third ingredient is fish...allergenic to many felines. First, my kitten would vomit after eating...I thought she had maybe eaten too fast. Then I noticed she has "fish breath" after she eats. Fish breath after what is supposed to be a chicken based meal is not normal...Many felines have a fish allergy, so chicken and turkey are often the go-to choice. I had always considered Fancy Feast to be among the highest quality over-the-counter brands and fed my cats successfully until I noticed this "covert" formula change. I am so disappointed in Fancy Feast for this....and so is my veterinarian. I am having to cancel the FF autoships for all my cats now...Be Aware! Always read the ingredient labels........and to Fancy Feast...Badly done! Very badly done! ... show more

I ordered the Tender Turkey Feast for Kittens and my 2 month old kitten loves it! This comes in a pack of 24 cans, the size of your palm. It smells like spam and has a mushy, brown texture. For cautionary notice- make sure to put in a plastic container and refrigerate if there's leftover. If you leave it out for more than 30min., the food oxidizes and grows bacteria which can be hazardous to your cat! (I accidentally left it out overnight and my kitten had diarrhea) ... show more

    • A more palatable turkey even for adults!

Cats are obligital omnivores and therefore should have mostly meat in their diets. That said, the fancy feast classic varieties are some of the best available. Don't be fooled by some of the other brands that have fillers such as vegetables and fruits and rice. Even some fancy feast versions contain wheat gluten, which I will not feed my cats. I'd also suggest sticking with these CLASSIC varieties that contain no fish: tender turkey feast kitten, turkey and giblets, chicken and liver, beef and liver, chicken and beef, and chopped grill. The others contain fish, and may cause FLUTD especially in male cats. One last suggestion, warm the food slightly to make it more appealing. And always switch from one brand to another slowly over the course of several days. ... show more

Kitten tested, kitten approved! It's hard to find wet food specifically for kittens, but he loves this stuff. He won't leave me alone when it's time to eat. As soon as he hears the can lid crack open, he starts freaking out...kind of like how I get when I hear someone else open up a beer can near me. I'm confused on why the turkey is so expensive though...$30 when the ocean whitefish is $13? Wish there was a half and half variety pack but either way, he loves it so we'll keep feeding it to him. ... show more

3 yr old rescue won't eat anything else now. Was feeding her another brand, that decided to discontinue the kitten line. Found a replacement with a very similar recipe, but that also started to be difficult to obtain. Started FF Kitten as a backup. Wish the cans were bigger, sometimes. I keep the open can in a sealed dish so the others can't get into it, as this is the ONLY thing she will eat...no hard food. Never had any worm issues that others have mentioned. Cans always seem fresh. If for any reason my girl doesn't polish off a can, I will leave it out for the others. Yes, if it changes color and goes grey it also starts to smell weird. Only issues have been on the Amazon side: since the pandemic their packing of shipments has been less than desired. Many boxes damaged, but so far the cans have been ok. A couple dents, but we fed those first. I know if true damage had occurred, Amazon would make things right. ... show more
