My 3 cats love the chicken. I am so glad they have a great seal, but it is tough to open. I use a small sharp knife. I insert the tip through the foil and then just follow along the edge of the container cutting the foil. You don’t have to cut all the way around. I start at the narrow end and run the knife along the edge past the big curve at the bottom. I then use the knife tip and fold back the cover, and use the knife to remove the food. My cat doesn't have many teeth. Sometimes food choices can be hard for her. The fact that this comes in a smaller portion is amazing. She eats half a portion for breakfast everyday. Sometimes, I do find it hard to peel back the top. My hands aren't as strong as they used to be. If you have a hard time peeling it, you could always poke it with a knife to open it. My cats love this especially for my finicky older cat. I'm happy to just learn that I can buy these online at a discount. The only drawback that I would provide feedback on is that sometimes it's tough to peel back the opening. I imagine this would make it difficult for older folks.

I can not honestly give this item a 5 of 5 star rating. I cat sat for a friend and their kitty loved this option from Purina without any adverse affects. All of Purina options is legitimately poor quality food with by-products, plenty of inappropriate fillers and various gums. Fancy Feast is cheap for a reason. When attempting to get a cat off dry food Purina is an option to start however not the best. This cat didn't always eat this wet food. Now fast forward to my own kitty recently adopted. I noted since trying all sorts of foods with her, including this and other Fancy Feast options she's sensitive to gums. All of Fancy Feast products produced poor quality bowl movements, increased smelly bowels and caused her to have some serious gas. I've sense switched her wet foods to no gums and options that only list guar gum. All other gums will cause digestive problems. Since the change, she's not in the litter box any where near as frequently, no more gas and her coat has improved in quality as she's getting better nutrition. Purina brand is basically crack for a cat. It's highly scented for both cat and human. It's also colored for us, human owners as salmon honestly shouldn't be brown in any form coming out the packaging. It's also covered in gravy which again is colored and flavored. Pet foods shouldn't be appealing in any form to humans but of course manufactures take our needs into consideration when creating foods for pets. It's a good option when on a budget but if you want your cat to live their best lives with you, skipping their products is in their best interest. ... show more
