This is shower arm mount made from high quality ABS, which makes it a lightweight ,but durable model. Pressure leak tests and 20,000 cycle swing tests were performed on the brass swivel ball to guarantee reliability. To prevent shower heads from falling out of this, there is a rubber cushion inside the holder to hold it better. Premium chrome plating gives this shower head a modern look and feel. What I find with hand showers is the plastic mounts do break over time especially with large number of users and constant use. The question you have to ask yourself is do you want to spend three or four times more to get a full metal replacement mount (as this is plastic). But for five bucks I opted for this plastic version - the hand shower fits perfectly in the mount and the brass swivel has enough tension so your hand shower head does not slip down. Installation was a breeze with pliers and the plumbers tape was provided - so no connector leaks on the shower pipe or the shower head tubing. My last mount lasted more than five years - so if this does also - how can you not be satisfied? ... show more

So I received this same shower head mount, except as a full assembly I acquired not long ago, and loved the design and fitting so much in now using it in another bathroom on another showerhead. It worked well because my other showerhead is a different brand, and thankfully it fit within the groove of the mount, but obviously that is not guaranteed andni recommend doing the research first. Beautifully made, it can make any fixture look sleek and fashionable. It even came with a screen filter and plumbers tape, so not trip to the hardware store for me! Super, super easy to install, it took less than 5 minutes! I even used just my hands, no tools required whatsoever. I mean, can you say quality and convenience all in one package or what? So awesome, and such a great product, I hope anyone in need of this highly considers it. 10 out of 10, and I will be recommending to my buddies. I have replaced a few of these in the past several years because the ball fittings would break because of my constant readjusting. I bought the previous ones from the big box stores ( at higher prices than this cost ) only to have them constantly droop as I showered. The last one from big box stores would not adjust upward far enough nor would it stay up. The range of adjustment on those all plastic models is very limited, I suppose because they had to be beefier since plastic is so much weaker than brass. Anyway, this Purelux Adjustable Hand Shower Arm Mount with Brass Swivel Ball Connector, Chrome, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B012OJOI4I/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_1 , has the largest range of adjustment that I have encountered and, when properly tightened, can be moved without loosening the nut, and yet, it will stay in place where you put it. And because it has a BRASS ball joint, I have no more fear of it breaking as I adjust it. Since it stay where it is put, I don't anticipate much need for adjustment! If you are undecided, BUY THIS!     • The "drooping" problem
This is the third arm mount purchased in an attempt to be able to eliminate the problem of the weight of the actual shower head from overriding the desired angle resulting in a "droop". The function of this part is to adjust that angle as preferred by the user. My first part had no adjustment capability. The second (from a "big box"), had all plastic parts which never allowed the ball joint tightening ring to secure the position. This one (Purelux) uses plastic parts but includes brass for the tightening ring and ball joint. A vast improvement. However, that ring is almost round rather than some shape to allow tools to grip securely and thus tighten adequately. An octagon or square or other shape would allow the gripping tool ( I used a new channel lock with protection on the teeth to try to tighten the ball joint enough to hold). After two attempts it is now holding but resulted in a damaged chrome plated finish. It took considerable pressure for the adequate tightening and I am not sure that if a guest tries to re-position it will start to droop again. I'm holding my breath. ... show more
