Hoping this is just a bad batch….This smells like someone put a little bit of bergamot oil and black pepper in a new tire store…. I was thinking it’d be similar to Velvet or the original scent for men (discontinued/turned into Velvet), but WOW I was NOT expecting the sharp overwhelming smell of new tires. Swatched on TWO different parts of my body AND a piece of paper. Same scent each time. Soooo extremely disappointing. There’s no way I can ever wear this. Such a waste. :(

I finally snagged a bottle of the Pure Instinct Reflection Pheromone Cologne that everyone talks about, and I get the hype—at least for the smell! This stuff is totally designed to be that "secret weapon" scent, and honestly, it’s a killer fragrance regardless of the pheromone claims. It’s definitely a unique, clean, and kind of mysterious scent that works awesome for daily wear or when you're heading out for a night. The Good (The Scent Vibe): Totally Unique Scent: This isn't your average, heavy cologne. It hits you with a unique blend that's often described as clean, slightly musky, and faintly sweet, almost like a high-end clean laundry smell mixed with a hint of warm vanilla. It works super well with your natural body chemistry, so it smells a little different (and great!) on everyone. Great for Layering: Because the scent is relatively subtle and clean, it's perfect for layering! You can totally use it as a base to add a little extra depth to your favorite traditional cologne without clashing. It just adds a nice, warm complexity to whatever you put on top. I love it when my husband smells extra yummy, so I ordered this cologne for him. I really enjoy the scent. It smells clean, fresh and citrusy. Unfortunately, it doesn't last all that long, so you might want to take it with you for reapplication. The bottle is well designed and looks fancy. There's one ounce of cologne in the bottle, and that seems fair for a $20 price point. To be fair, my husband was not stampeded by women while wearing this, but that works for me, because I don't want to fight them off.

🌿 Opening Impression From the first spray, Pure Instinct Reflection is like a fresh citrus that is clean. It’s like D&G light blue vibes. 🧴 Dry Down & Base Notes There is no dry down. From the moment you spray it, you will smell it for like 5 seconds and then it is gone. I've sprayed this all over myself and I concentrated it on my wrist to try to smell it and I can't. ⏳ Longevity & Performance On my skin, this lasts 3-5 seconds. 🎯 When & Where to Wear It ✅ A quick fresh up 📦 Packaging & Presentation The bottle is tiny and easy to carry around. Atomizer is basic and sprays well. Blue label depicts the vibe of this scent. 💬 Final Thoughts Pure Instinct Reflection is completely useless and a waste of money. I've tried so many pheromone perfumes and they are all the same. Spray and its gone. I smell nothing. Yet somehow someone else is supposed to be able to smell you. Just no. I don't recommend or will repurchase. Maybe this is better for like a child that wants to use perfume/cologne, but it doesn't say it's safe for their skin, so maybe then just for a teen to use. This could also be used by women and considered feminine. It's a clean scent but last seconds.

As far as imitations go, this does pretty well at emulating the other version. It's lighter, with less depth, but is better than other colognes I've tried. It's a rather musky, somewhat sweet, and pretty gentle scent overall, but the atomizer makes it easy to overapply, so be careful. I find this one to evaporate semi-quickly, but its otherwise good for the cost, and leaves no skin irritation.
