I'm disabled with chronic illness and the lifting of masking requirements at doctor offices caught me between a rock and a hard place: do I go in and get covid a 2nd time and (best case scenario) increase my chronic pain and disability for the rest of my life, or do I stop seeing my doctors and let my health slide to where I may as well have let covid damage my body even more? I know these small filters aren't perfect -- sure, it won't protect as much as the offices combining building-wide HEPA-HVAC with an Alen BreatheSmart 75i Pure or similar in each room (and simply wearing a mask would do more than any of those), but when that isn't an option, I know I can hold one of these in each hand while wearing my ENVO mask and significantly reduce the viral load in the air. They also came in useful dealing with the aftermath of the forest fires: my home and office have quality filters, but my car doesn't do as well, so I turned both on while driving to and from work. Even if you aren't concerned about contagions, I recommend these for portable assistance with air quality issues. The only thing that would make them better is if they found a way to have a tiny UV-C light inside it to help sterilize air that passes through. My large room HEPA filters have that, but it appears no one has figured out a way to do that on a small scale yet (at least, not without adding $500 to the price). ... show more

I bought this filter in 2023 to help me keep safe in my office cube when at work. I used it alongside masking and my negative ionizer. It has three speeds. It is super quiet on low, but I didn't feel like it was adding much protection. On high, it ran through the battery down before the end of the work day and had to sit on the USB cord while also on. I used it mostly at the middle setting. I felt like it helped with the air and wasn't too loud. It sounded like a very small desk fan, and most of my coworkers thought it was used for that reason. I don't believe it would keep you safe by itself, but if used with other tools, I think it did help me keep from getting any illnesses. I have also used it in places like the dentist's office where it is harder to mask and keep yourself safe. ... show more

I like having this in my car for portable purifying. It's a good size and I'll leave it running when I go into a business to keep my car air cleaner. it's hard to verify to what level it works, but i do feel the air feels cleaner. That said, i took one star off b/c there's not a good place to keep it in the car while its running. If you put it in the cupholder, it blocks off the air circulation. I use it on the dashboard when the car is not running, but otherwise, it needs something to prop it. ... show more

Deets below. Bottom line: It works, output is barely there. For such a small lil thing - think the size of a large travel coffee mug - it does what it’s supposed to. I ride a commuter bus and I don’t know what they have done to the interior material but it sets off my allergies terribly and I wind up in a coughing fit. Enter this little baby. I turn it on all the way up to 3 - it sounds like a low fan - and hold it upright on my lap/leg. Before anyone says it could be in my head, no. When I first get on the bus, I notice that familiar gotta cough feeling climbing up my throat and I struggle to stifle it. Within a few minutes of this purifier blowing, that urge is gone and doesn’t return as long as I keep it running. Winning. The reason I took off a star is because the output is almost nonexistent. One could say “who cares as long as it works.” Perhaps, but I shouldn’t be forced to have it on high for it to work - it does nothing for me at any of the lower levels because it’s like nothing is blowing out. I found this purifier to be great for going on vacation and you don't want to have to bring a full size one with you or just for your own personal use in the bedroom on your night stand. The size is very continent and lightweight. The only downside I could find with this product is the battery life. This is why I rated it 4 stars instead of 5. I am only able to get one full night of sleep before it needs to be recharged. I didn't expect it to last for weeks or anything just a little longer than it does. Maybe a could nights sleep worth. I like the colour of it, and it fits nicely in my (very open) cupholder. The handle is pretty flimsy, and doesn't like to stay on, so I wouldn't recommend relying on that for holding it to something, because you'll likely end up dropping it. It's very quiet, even on the highest setting, though I prefer the middle setting. I am not able to really test if it actually filters the air or not, and I did get sick while using it + wearing a mask (unknown virus, not one of the big ones) but, that's not really that surprising overall. I do wish you could see the battery level or that there was some indicator of the battery level. But, assuming that it is doing its job, it's quite a nifty little thing to have! I used to sneeze like 10 times a day at work because we had water damage that hasn't been cleaned well - moldy now probs. I started using this, just level two daily and maybe 1 sneeze a day now! My coworkers cannot hear it at 2 and then level 3 is loud for me but my coworkers said they barely hear it and it can be tuned out easily. Ive been checking the filter and nothing too dirty In there though so that's weird considering I did stop sneezing for the most part. ... show more
