Before putting these one for the first time I could immediately tell something wasn't right. In my 20 years in the military I have never received BDU trousers that had so much extra material in the legs and seat. These were beyond what could be reasonably considered relaxed fit or baggy. The waist size was way off as well, 2 more extra inches of room than needed making the waist cinch straps useless. There's a good possibility these were factory rejects PROPPER thought they could sneak through on Amazon.

I am 6'2" 225lbs. I have a 36" waist and normally get a 36" inseam. I got the Large Long. The length is perfect. The waist fits me good, but anything larger than a 36" waist will be tight. The buttons on the fly are minimally sewn in. I have bought several pair of Propper pants and they always have the same issue. Plan on adding some stitching to the buttons or they will fall off. Otherwise good pants.

I bought these pants for a bi-annual event, so they only get worn two times per year. I have been using an eastern woodland camo pair for more than 20 years. That pair shows no appreciable wear, but my wife talked me into modernizing. On the 4th wearing of these pants the crotch seam unraveled (photos attached). The cloth did not tear, the stitching unraveled. One of the buttons in the fly is coming unsewn. I compare this with the older pair (now relegated to yard work and worn 32 times a year) that still shows almost no wear and has no damage. The vendor was great. The got the product to my door quickly and their price was reasonable. The poor quality of the craftsmanship in the pants is not their fault. So while I would recommend this vendor, I cannot endorse this product.

These were indeed "Proper" brand BDUs. Not "Genuine Gear" as other reviewers received. The fabric doesn't appear to be rip-stop. the weave is not the slick crisp rip stop fabric I got in previous Proper BDUs. This weave is a diagonal ridge weave and is softer and not as crisp. My clue should have been the description: 60% cotton / 40% polyester twill. I wanted the rip stop 100% cotton pant. I am pleased with these as a pant for casual wear. I want these pants for beekeeping and need the crisper material that will stand away from my legs. Proper makes excellent BDUs and I get a year or more of wear from two pair worn daily. Next time I will pay closer attention to the description.

The pants arrived reasonably fast. And they are the color, size and style I ordered. However, they are not like military material. I was expecting the rip-stop summer type of material. What I got was not hot weather or cold weather material. It isn't heavy or thick enough to match cold weather material. And it certainly isn't light and breathable enough to be hot weather material. I will update my review if anything ground breaking occurs with the pants. Right now though, I'm not really happy with what I got. "Mil-Spec" is an actual descriptive term, it should not be a marketing gimmick used by sellers.

The pants fit exactly as described (I ordered medium short), but they are NOT ripstop as described. I decided to keep them and not return them because the fabric seems to be heavy enough for my purposes (field geology), so I was okay without the ripstop feature. I also ordered a navy blue pair, and they did have ripstop fabric. C'est la vie.

Best construction work pants. Much more comfortable and durable than jeans and the big cargo pockets are great for a tape measure and other small tools. Ripstop material keeps small holes from becoming blowouts. They have ties in the bottom cuff to cinch them around/under boots; I cut those off because for me that’s a useless feature and they become a trip hazard if left loose.

Return was flawless when I contacted seller and was truthful in that I hadn't noticed they were button-fly and not the zipper style. Having only one hand, button-fly is a no-no. Customer service sent return shipping label at no cost. Will purchase from seller in the future when zipper fly are available.
