First, if you saw the review by Justin H. claiming that he tested a Promeed pillowcase for silk content with a burn test and it failed, I need to direct your attention to his photos, which clearly show he actually did his testing on a KITSCH brand polyester satin pillowcase. Hopefully that disinformation will be removed sometime soon. I can't believe 55 people clicked "Helpful" without noticing the prominent brand tag in the photos! That said, read on for some accurate info about this pillowcase. :) I've had several Promeed silk bedding products in my wishlist for quite some time, due to their prices and the hard-to-find colors they call Dusk and Gold. I've just ordered and received their standard-size pillowcase in Dusk, to sort of check out the quality before ordering any more. ***Update on the Dusk color: It actually looks pretty different it different kinds of lighting, and while I wouldn't say it's a 100% exact match for the product images, it's very close in daylight. The positives: It's unquestionably made from genuine, natural silk, and exhibits all of the characteristics of real silk; the fabric is a very fine charmeuse (fine satin) weave and feels very silky-soft; the zipper closure is the invisible type, and is a very close match to the color of the silk (not white as some brands use); the sizing is accurate at 20.5"x26"; the fabric edges on the inner seams are serged to prevent fraying; and the company included a free, nice-quality mesh washing pouch and a swatch of the silk fabric for burn testing. The negatives: The silk fabric seems a little thin to me for 23 momme - I have no way to verify the momme count, but my 22 momme silk pillowcases from THXSILK feel about the same; the seams are not French seams, which are the most durable type for silk (but the price would be higher if they were); and while the Dusk color is a lovely muted autumn leaf or pumpkin shade, it is not the vibrant reddish sunset orange shown in all of the product images - it's more of a slightly brownish orange, so it doesn't quite match the SDH Legna lyocell sheet set I bought it for. General notes on silk pillowcases: They're made from protein (because that's what silkworm cocoons are made of), which is what makes them so great for human hair and skin, which are also made of protein. But it also means you'll need to use a washing product that isn't formulated to dissolve protein. Either a silk/wool wash, such as Eucalan or Soak, or an oil-free body wash will work great. Handwashing is best - just soak in cool to warm soapy water for 5-10 minutes, swish gently but well, rinse cold, hang to dry (don't wring or squeeze, just gently roll in a towel if you need to speed up the drying time). I'll be using the nice mesh bag that was included for other delicates, because I never put my silk in the washing machine. Shades of orange are hard to find in silk pillowcases, so I'm really glad I found this one, though also sad that Promeed is discontinuing it due to low sales! The fabric thickness isn't much of an issue for me, since I take really good care of my silk, and it does have an especially silky feel. I will very likely be checking out the Gold color soon.

Excellent silk pillowcases!! They fit perfect on standard size pillows and look so luxurious. Super silky soft and no weird smell but I did wash and let air dry before using. I like how it doesn’t hold onto heat so I find I’m not waking up as much to move around my pillow for a cooler spot, leading to better quality sleep.

Beautiful, rich color, washed up nicely (hand washed and hung to dry). Feels cool and smooth on my skin, zipper keeps the case from coming off my pillow. Seems like good quality, I am very happy with this silk pillow case, especially for the price.

This silk pillowcase is, without a doubt, the best I've ever had. It's super soft on the skin and hair, excellent quality, and with a strong yet extremely soft and delicate fabric. The size of this pillowcase is perfect for my pillow. I hand-washed it (although it says machine-washable). The pillowcase is truly wonderful and I recommend it to everyone (in fact, I'd like to buy one for my husband and two extra ones). The reason I didn't give it five stars is because, although the pillowcase is the best I've tried, the wash bag it comes with is of very poor quality (the zipper on the bag is made of plastic and was broken). For such a good product, if you're going to give a wash bag as a gift, make sure it's of good quality (not the worst one out there), since the pillowcase isn't very cheap, to say the least. Spanish: Esta funda de seda sin duda alguna es la mejor que he tenido. Es súper suave para la piel y para el pelo de excelente calidad y con un tejido fuerte pero extremadamente suave y delicado. El tamaño de esta funda es perfecto para mi almohada. Yo la he lavado a mano ( aunque dice que se puede lavar a máquina) . La funda es una auténtica maravilla y la recomiendo a todo el mundo ( de hecho me gustaría comprar una para mi marido y otras dos extra). La razón por la que no doy cinco estrellas es porque aunque la funda sea la mejor que he probado la bolsita de lavado que trae es de malísima calidad ( la cremallera de la bolsita es de plástico y venía rota) . Para un producto tan bueno si vas a regalar una bolsita para lavado que sea de buena calidad ( no la de más mala calidad que hay) ya que la funda no es muy barata que digamos.

These pillow cases are great. I love color and shine of the fabric. I’ve found them to be super soft and comfortable on my skin. After a few months of use they are still holding up well with no snags even after multiple washes. They are able to come clean easily in a delicate wash cycle and any stains come off with a gentle stain spray. The fit on my queen size pillows is good and I like that they have a zipper. The value for money of these was great being much cheaper than similar silk pillowcases.
