Our newest generation prosport 1.5 amp fully automatic maintainer is an innovative multi-use charger designed for maximum utility. Robust water resistant design is IP 65 making it versatile for virtually any charging application. Concealed mounting holes allow the pros port 1.5 to be installed on-board or to be used as a portable, with rear die cut foam resting pad. Ring terminal and DC clamp quick connect cable assemblies included. Our marine grade design is weatherproof, water resistant to IP 65 and can be used in all fresh and salt water outdoor and indoor applications as needed. Designed to keep 12 volt batteries fully Charged during short or long term storage periods, prosport's energy Saver mode will monitor and auto maintain a battery when needed to maintain a full state of Charge. This charger was installed on my dump trailer from the factory but stopped working within about two months from purchase. I contacted the charger’s manufacturer as well as the trailer manufacturer and they would both replace it under warranty. But, in both cases, I would have to either mail it to them or bring the whole trailer in and wait. I am not a rich man so I research and I buy quality. I have used a Pro Marine charger to maintain my boat batteries for several years with no issues. So when it came time to buy maintainer for my wife Cadillac XLR, I brought Pro Marine. Used 4 weeks. Died. Incorrect description. Indicated trickle charge any 12v including tractor. Used for trickle maintenance of tractor.

    • Works but very slow charging my full size 12v battery
EDIT: After trying to charge 2 new small batteries today (small 12v 10AH scooter bats) the charger would just blink back and forth on charging/maintenance. It did this on my first full size 12v and I thought it was indicating full charge. I am sending this back and exchange for 5amp version. ------------------------------------ I have a full size 12v Marine battery that I use as an alternate power supply for charging drone batteries. This charger works but it is very slow on full size batteries. I am sure it much more efficient at charging smaller motorcycle/wheelchair batteries, etc. But the bottom line is it works and I am still happy with my purchase. ... show more

    • Combats parasitic battery drain
Permanently installed this unit in the trunk of a Mercedes sedan, behind the trunk lining, wired through a spare fuse position to unswitched B+. Installed a little window to allow the LEDs to be seen. Unit works just as advertized and tops off the battery with an overnight run 2-3 times a month. The design of this car provides small but measurable parasitic draw on the battery, and leaving the car idle for more than a couple of weeks risks having to jump start it. Didn't even get a summer out of I ordered June 6 here we are in July got almost 3 charges out of before my boat got a wonderful aroma of electricity melting plastic. Honestly cannot recommend this product unless you are looking for an insurance claim.
