I've used these since I was about 8 years old to catch bait fish. This thing works fantastically well. Its made of high quality materials, hasn't ripped even though I've gotten more than a few spiny fish and sticks stuck in it. It takes two people to use correctly but a very very easy way to fill up the bait box. Great product

This is something I got mainly to play with. I've always wanted to try one and just learn how to use one in general. It's not something I necessarily need, but should still be fun to learn. It seems to be quite well made and has nice small hole spacing to catch most any sized fish and large minnows. The lead weights are pretty much the same as on a cast net and it has the little bouy floats to help hold the top up. You can easily attach poles to each side to help keep it flat and hold it while moving through the water. I would assume you could also stretch it across a flowing creek or river. Though I mainly got it to play and learn with, it is also a pretty good piece of survival gear if you are also into that. I like it and look forward to using it more. I see no reason not to recommend it. I would suggest finding something to store it in because it expands a lot once you open the vacuum sealed bag. I used an extra large cinch top nylon bag I had and it worked perfectly.

I think this net is a good price for it's very large size. It feels like it's made with the same quality materials as our hoop net that we use for pole fishing, which has been fine for anything we find close to the shore. The 4 by 20 foot is surprisingly large and cumbersome in smaller creeks, but we solved that by using a spare pvc pipe, and then wrapping the center of the net around it to make a 10 foot wide macgyver version. We have yet to catch something mealworthy, but it's fun family time to play around with it and see what kind of creatures are lurking the shallows. Nice recommendation, thank you.

This seine arrived in good shape. It is heavy duty. You will need to find some poles to attach to the side, either wood or sturdy PVC or some other material. The seine is very long making it impractical for certain applications. I highly recommend going on youtube and looking at videos on seining technique as there is a learning curve using these effectively, especially emptying them.

I ordered this because it seems like one of those things you don't ever need until you do. I live in a fish rich area and having something like this on hand just in case I ever need it was a good idea. Also, seine fishing is legal in my state so it could also be some good fun. The net is well constructed, the weights are secure, and it folds up into a handy carry bag. If you're an avid outdoorsman or someone who likes having something for whatever comes your way, it makes sense to have something like a seine net on hand.
