This paddle is nice and thick. I don't have the most experience with different paddles, but the ball seems to jump off of this paddle pretty nicely. I don't have to put a ton of power into my swing to get a good pop on the ball. The rubber is pretty grippy and the weight is pretty on par with my other paddles. However, the one big issue with this specific paddle (penhold grip version) is that the exposed edges on the blade are extremely sharp. They haven't been sanded down at all which makes the paddle quite painful to play with as a penholder since the thumb and index finger curl tightly around that part of the blade. I had to manually sand down the blade just to make it more comfortable to hold. I may end up using a router and roundover bit if I find it needs a lot more rounding out of the edges. For the price, I think it's a nice paddle and as long as you're able to knock down the edges (with sand paper or a router), I'd recommend getting this paddle.

These paddles are it.. one side for spin and the other for speed.. they have a sticky/tacky film on them for grip I’m assuming. But these have leveled are game up for sure. Definitely worth the money and compared to regular paddles you will need to practice with them to get used to them but they will help your game a lot

I’ve been using this for the last three days, and I can assure you that it is an excellent tt racquet for the price! * It came back in a very clean looking, professional, black box. Unboxing was a pleasure! (Without using any unnecessary plasticky material, it was all thin cardboard). Nice protective clear plastic sheet covering the rubber surfaces. * It is made for players who use spin, period! You get great control, getting the ball from various angles. I was surprised by how nicely it would catch even the edge of the racket and land on the table as intended. If you are upgrading from an entry-level racquet, this will be a big upgrade in the air, play, accuracy, spin, and speed. * Compared to my previous racquet, this has a slightly heavier feel in the handle, feels a little more comfortable. * I haven’t tried too many fast shots/smashes yet, we’ll see how that works out. Why I took away one star: * The rubber surface attracts a lot of lint, which gets annoying after a while (see the third picture I uploaded above). Extremely hard to clean window. It has been only three days since I got it. * The nice looking black case that comes with the racket is a little too snug, I keep worrying that pushing it inside the case might peel off the edges of the rubber surface of on the racquet. If only they could make the case a little roomier in the next version, that would be awesome! All in, as noted above, it is a fantastic racquet for the price and you can’t go wrong with it, especially if you are upgrading from an entry-level piece. Hope you find this review, helpful!

A coworker bought a Pro Spin Carbon paddle and I liked it so much that I recommended it to a couple of other guys I work with. So I ordered a two pack on their behalf and when they arrived, I was bummed to see that the rubbers were blotchy, as you can see in the two photos. I reached out to the company, who was terrific, and they offered to send out two new ones, which were much better, however they still had a little blotchiness. But for the price I am not complaining, as I don't believe it affects the performance. I am an advanced player with a rating of 1500 and have used $300 paddles that have terrific spin, speed, and feel. Don't think for a second that the Pro Spin Carbon is in the same league. This however, still plays fantastically, with a good level of spin and speed. One note is that if you are a beginner, this Pro Spin paddle may be a little too fast. Beginners should always use a slower paddle which helps control their shots and master the fundamentals of good strokes. You may find that this paddle is a bit heavy, but I assure you that you will quickly become comfortable with the weight. This plays considerably better than my $40 Stiga Saber paddle that I bought 10 years ago. However, one downside to this paddle is that it is not ITTF approved, which means if you wanted to play in a tournament, it would not be allowed. All it means is that it doesn't have the embossed ITTF insignia on the rubber. It is only an endorsement, and not a reflection of quality. Pro Spin has just chosen not to pay for that certification by the federation to give its seal of approval. I kind of don't blame them. But if that's important to you and you want something a little bit better, a good step up paddle is the Joola Infinity Edge sold from $33 to $44. Make sure to look for the black and red rubbered version. It has the red handle. I say that, because weirdly, they are also sold with 2 black rubbers, which is also not ITTF approved. I can tell you from personal experience that the Joola has considerably more spin, more feel and possibly a little less speed. It is a superior paddle that any intermediate player will really enjoy.

Fast, strong paddle. I wanted a little more control, but I will get used to the paddle. The paddle seems to respond to the user playing aggressively, then the control comes in. Keep in mind the paddle is new and has to get broken in. I have only used it 3 times. I'm considering buying another one for backup.
