I ordered an XL - I’m 5’3 & 210lbs. It’s got a quality look and fits well for us curvy girls. It did come in a bag per usual Amazon style shipping so it had maybe a dye/chemical thing where it looked like it had some drips or spots. A quick trip to the dry cleaner and that came right out and they pressed or steamed it and it didn’t wrinkle up while wearing like other reviews mentioned. The side zip is fine but the top of the zipper doesn’t have a eye hole hook that normally see in side closure dresses - that caused a little bit of pinching in the under arm but an easy fix when I wear it in the future. I liked that the belt didn’t have little loops attached to the dress so you could place the sash where your curves are/where you want. This color wasn’t overly thin and I didn’t feel like I was bursting at the seams. I sat, ate, danced and wasn’t worried about busting my dress. *EDITS/ADDITIONS TO REVIEW* Originally ordered in maroon/burgundy color & loved dress so I ordered red brown for a summer wedding. Overall I think these dresses are so cute and classy. Each time I’ve purchased this dress I’ve bought it on sale and feel like it warrants the sale price. I do love these dresses but I’m not sure I’d say they’re worth ~$50 regularly but you can decide for yourself. I will note fabric is thin & I think it’s best suited for a warmer occasion. I know a lot of wrap dresses can make dancing & moving around a bit scandalous but I haven’t worn these out yet to test. I do feel like they wrap far enough over you don’t have to stress too much since there’s a good amount of overlap. My only complaint is no hanger straps on these dresses. Medium maroon/burgundy review - Top is a bit baggier than expected. But I think it’s pretty flattering even on my smaller chest. The fabric is thin & has a satin feel but no sheen. Overall I really like this dress. Great length on my 5’5 height, & very flattering over all. Do really like that it has a side zipper & you don’t have to shimmy it over your body. Small and medium red brown review - the color is more of a dusty pink than a red or brown but I went off of previous reviews and chose this color anyway for a summer wedding. I preferred the fit of medium over small & if I order more colors in future I’ll order mediums. The small fit my body fine (all photos are in size mediums) but the elastic in the neckline was stretched out in the small and made the top slightly uncomfortable. Overall still really like these dresses and would order again. The true test though would be wearing them out for the night and seeing how they hold up. ... show more

This dress is beautiful! I originally ordered it in the rose pink color to were to a wedding and loved the fit and comfort but that color was a little lighter than pictured so didn't flatter me. So I ordered in other colors and fell in love with this brown/bronze. Not only is the color stunning, the dress is also silky soft. It is not see through, even in the sun. It is light for summer months and I found it flatters a figure by using the belt to since around the waist. My reasons for 4 stars is the following: There is no string to hang the dress properly. I rigged something with a clothes pin to avoid folding it and risking more wrinkles. The dress wrinkles fairly easily. I expected the wrinkles out of the packaging and they came right out with a steamer. But I hung the dress overnight after not realizing the bottom was wasn't taught, so had to iron the bottom half the next day. It also does not have loops for the belt, so like other reviewers have mentioned, it shifts a bit throughout the year and requires fixing. Last, I found the the pleating on the top half along the bust didn't always fall right even with the steaming and ironing. It tended to create an odd bulge that I'd need to readjust now and then. (Although perhaps if I had a larger chest that would not have been an issue! 😆) Overall for the money it was totally worth it, and the value, look, and comfort far outweighed the need to readjust sometimes for me. ... show more

    • BOO on the Breast Area ---Nice Dress Though!
I even read ALL the reviews and was hoping this would not happen "to me" but it did. Although, this dress if flattering as far as the shape, the front slit is just enough but know that it opens quite a lot depending on how you sit, the front part does cover any "pooch" you might have. MY MAIN issue with this dress is the top part. The breast part, the one-off shoulder was very saggy, like there was too much material around that area. Then on the other side that had the thick strap, it did not line up with my shoulder so I had to adjust it to line up but it did not stay! It looked HORRIBLE in that area and although I am not a small girl in that region, not entirely busty either, overall, even if I had the breasts to fill it out, I still don't believe it would have looked good because of the saggy material that was presented in that area! And YES you will need to pin the belt, like other reviews have stated as it will turn on you....getting fabric tape will help too if you don't want to pin it! IF YOU get a good dress that does not have the issues that I described above, then this dress is a WINNER. I was completely bummed that it did not work out for me because it is very elegant, sexy, the satin in nice and would have worked out for the wedding I was set to attend. As a result, I have to send the dress back but what also annoys me in this is it's an inconvenience; the dress needs to go through UPS instead (no office is close to me) rather than my usual Kohl's return store (much closer to me). ... show more

Gorgeous! The dress I purchased is a size medium, deep red. I'm 58 and I was looking for a classy, but slightly sexy, age appropriate, dress, for dinner out with my husband, and future dinners with his clients. I am 5'4", exactly 140 lbs. the night I first wore this. I am a 38B, I have a wide ribcage which makes wearing fitted tops a struggle. I am also long waisted. This in particular stops me from purchasing items with a stitched waist, as they almost always sit too high. This dress fit and looked great in spite of my usual fit issues. I am a 6/8, M/L ... the 8/L is for a fitted top with a zipper, no stretch. The zipper on this dress - after getting past the seam [argh! The one pain point on the dress] - went up easily while wearing a strapless bra. The 100% polyester material is not flimsy, it is deliciously silky, smooth, and hangs beautifully. The movement of the skirt was a concern because of the cut, but it moved smoothly along my legs as I walked, and in my opinion added to the overall class of this dress. I plan to purchase another medium in a different color and view other dresses by Pretty Garden. ... show more

This is my experience with this dress: First, it is a beautiful color! The concept was good, the assembly was not! I'm 5' 3", 149lbs. I work out and have an athletic, older persons build. I ordered a M, it fit weird. The top right side was tight across my breast area, BTW I'm a A+ cup (the + is for effort in amost being a B cup! Lol). The shoulder strap was also snug enough that I knew after awhile it was going to start to irritate my skin. The left side was loose and had a big pouf of material just above the waist line, which looked weird. You could tuck it under the belt, but realistically we all know it's not going to stay there for long. I ordered another medium and large to see if they fit any better. (I forgot to take pictures of those 2, sorry!) The 2nd medium was slightly less thight in the areas I had mentioned and the pouf was still there, just not as big. The large looked the best as far as giving that pleated look the model in the picture had. It fit better in the strap area and across my right breast. Unfortunately, the left side under my arm area was so loose it ballooned out on the side of the dress. The waist was a little big. The material just above the side waist area was also pulled and sewn in 2 different directions, which caused it not to lay smooth in an area that was supposed to be. This one also had that big odd pouf just above the waist. Two more things to note. This dress is thin with no liner, but I don't think it is see thru, at least not the dark blue. It does produce static and attracts lint. In the summer it would be fine, but its Nov. in the midwest and it's becoming dry. Just trying it on, it was attracting things.     • Shoulder Fit WAY Too Large
I wanted to love this dress, but the top seems two sizes larger than the rest of the dress. I purchased this in two colors. When I tried on the first dress, the shoulder was too wide. I'm above average on top, but I have average shoulders for my frame. In order for this have fit properly, it would've had to go to a tailor. I thought, perhaps, it had been stretched out by a previous owner. So, I tried on the other dress. It had the same issue. What I Loved: Colors are gorgeous! The bottom portion of the dress is form-fitting, but very forgiving, giving any shape a great look. The fabric has a great density and sheen to it, making it look glamorous, but not over the top. What I Didn't Like: The top and bottom of the dress seem like two completely different sizes. The top fits very large. If you have broad shoulders and a larger bra size, this dress may be perfect for you. The bottom is true to size, and so sizing down for the top to fit isn't a solution.
