Pretty in Pink on Amazon Prime Video Review! I bought Pretty in Pink on Amazon Prime Video to watch with my daughter, wanting to share this iconic 80s classic with her. I mean seriously we can’t go through life without experiencing all the 80’s classics and this is one of them. There’s a list and we’re going through it weekly, LOL! Ordering it through my smart TV was a breeze—super intuitive and quick, with just a few clicks on my Amazon account. We were able to start watching immediately, no delays or glitches, which made for a fun, spontaneous movie night. The film’s timeless story and vibe were perfect for bonding, and my daughter loved it! The streaming quality was excellent, and the overall experience was seamless. Highly recommend purchasing this classic on Prime Video for an easy, nostalgic watch! ... show more

  • Inspiring and Nostalgic
What can I say about Pretty In Pink, it’s my favorite John Hughes film. He was the formation of The Brat Pack and of all the movies. Whenever I’m down in the dumps or just need a nostalgic reminder of the 80’s I watch this or The Breakfast Club.

  • Great Movie!!!
I have just pre-ordered this DVD, so I am reviewing the contents of the movie that I saw about 20 years ago (and have seen about 30 times on late night t.v. since then) - I'll review how well the DVD was done once I get it. But, I just couldn't resist adding this to my Listmania list of "my favorite movies"!!! I experienced my "teen years" during the mid 1980's, so of course I saw EVERY ONE of the Molly Ringwald movies when they came out - and I LOVED every single one!!! I often wonder what ever became of her - as she had quite a string of hit movies, and then just disappeared from the radar. I honestly hope to see her again some day, as I always thought she was a really good actress... Anyway, "Pretty in Pink" is about a teenage girl living during the 1980's (you can tell by the "great" style of clothes) on the "wrong side of the tracks". She lived with her father, who simply did not like to work, as her mother had left them some years earlier. She spends most of her time with her best friend "Ducky" - who's a really great guy, also from a "working class" family. However, there are 2 REALLY rich, good looking guys who seem to be interested in her. 1 of them is a MAJOR jerk, and all he ever cares about is "one thing" (I'm sure you know what I mean), so she consistently turns him down - which makes him EXTREMELY "pissed off". The 2nd guy seems to be a pretty nice guy, and she becomes enamored of him. Well, the "nice guy" finally asks her out & she says yes - only to be treated like trash by his friends. But, they try to continue dating & he eventually asks her to the prom - & she says yes. Will he show up? Will she be forced to go alone? Who will she end up with - Ducky or the rich guy??? I don't want to ruin it for you in case you never saw the movie, but suffice it to say that you will ALWAYS remember the ending to this movie!!! (I don't know of anyone who doesn't, and many of them last saw it about 20 years ago!!!). I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys teenage romance movies in general, or the Molly Ringwald gang in particular. This is a great movie, and much of it will still make sense to today's teens. In fact, if you grew up in the 80's, your kids might be around that age now, so you could watch it together - a family movie night... ... show more

  • One of my all-time faves!
I was in high school in the 80's when this film came out and it's one of my all-time favorite movies! I ordered it because I wanted my 16 year old daughter to watch it with me. She loved it, too! If you've never seen this movie, make sure you watch it. I'm sure you'll love it, too!

  • Shows its age
Welll...I used to love this movie. Molly and Jon Dryer are both great. James Spader is a master as sleazy rich boy and Annie Potts is pretty funny. Andrew McCarthy is about the worst hero ever. Let me rephrase that. Andrew McCarthy is fine, his CHARACTER Blaine I would have happily kicked to the curb. Weakling. Kind of surprised that I read that John Hughes wrote it for her. Why not give her a better hero? After Jake Ryan and Judd Nelson I was kind of disappointed. Still worth watching for her retro fashion. Was on time and the case and CD were pristine. ... show more
