My grandkids love it, especially the money

At least, the kids I know will love this! If your kids are already into high tech and having their own phones, this won't be a thrill. But all of my grandkids (16 at this point and counting) would absolutely love it. Playing grocerry store just got a ton more fun. And a homeschool parent could easily use this to teach so many things . . . making change, how to greet people, polite customer and employee skills . . . all while having fun. The only hard part will be making them take turns to be the one to run the cash register. The fake money looks close enough to the real thing for young kids. The drawer really opens so that they can make change easily. The register has a calculator built in that works, making it realistic and a great way to check their math skills. (As a former homeschool mom, I would have kids do the adding and subtracting on paper, then allow them to ring up the total to see if they got it right.) Younger kids would also enjoy this, just adding to the fun of pretend shopping trips without trying to make it realistic at all. The build quality is about right for the price, with a couple of caveats (hence the 4 stars). First, the microphone was a disappointment. Yes, it SORT OF works, but there isn't a real difference to be heard between one's normal speaking voice and one's voice over the microphone. I listened hard and tried several times, but it just doens't amplify a voice. The second thing that was a small frustration was the lack of many sounds / lights. It wouldn't take a lot to add just a little more pizazz to the sounds -- the buttons for the various functions could have different sounds or something. The size of the screws holding the batteries into the cavity is another small issue. I mean, they are tiny. So easy to drop as you screw them back in. It would be simple to make them a bit bigger, and not have to find a TINY Phillips screwdriver to loosen them for the battery cavity. Overall all, though, it's a good toy and I think would get a good amount of use.

My 5 year old is big into numbers and counting. This is a great tool to teach him currency. The pieces are fairly realistic looking and great quality. The little microphone unplugs which makes it easy to confiscate from littles. The credit card feature is adorable and my kids love pretending to shop with eachother!

This register is smaller than it looks. They have no mention of the size besides under the “item dimensions” tab with states it’s 1x 0.5 x1 inches. I assume in order to save space they only have 3 slots for the money. They have 1s, 10s, and 20s. I found it odd to include 20s and not 5s. For the purpose of helping to teach math skills I would have much rather had the 5s. For $41.99 the price is a little expensive for the quality. That said It works ok and the microphone is a cute addition. My almost 3 year old son does enjoy playing with it. If you are ok with the price and loss of educational value, it’s not a bad toy.

There is a lot to like about this cash register! First of all, it works as a calculator which my kids really enjoy. The microphone also works, so they can shout “clean up on aisle 5!” The card swiper even makes a fun beeping noise. There is lots of play money and it is realistic enough to teach kids about the different dollar and coin values. We did get one deformed coin but it wasn’t a big deal. I got my daughter the Target brand cash register last year (the Fisher Price one rebranded for Target) and if you are between the two, I would go with this one. It does more and has more learning opportunities, and the drawer doesn’t get stuck and accidentally locked like the Target one does.

One less star for the money being a lot small than the other machines I have seen. The is a great cash register though. Nice and loud just like kids like. My children love the microphone. The calculated works well and my children love that it’s just blue. Great tool for teaching money appreciation as well as addition/subtraction. Over great toy the kids will play with for hours.

My boys absolutely love this register; they have spent hours playing with it so far. The size of it is really nice. I thought it was going to be bigger like the ones at play museum but it’s about half that which I really love because it’s easy to store. Also enjoy the microphone is removable… As a parent that’s probably my favorite feature because after hours of playing with it I’m ready to turn down their volume a bit. We’ve really enjoyed this register and how easy it is to use , stores and seems fairly durable. Only thing my boys wish it had was a scanner but that’s not a big deal to me. Overall we really like this register and will end up grabbing another for an upcoming birthday present.
