Initially I thought this multi tester was unreliable. Turns out I was the weak link. After reading other reviews and watching the product videos, I realized I wasn’t putting adequate pressure on the stone. After being mindful of the stone cleanliness, probe angle, and pressure, I’m identifying stones with precision. This is a prograde device which does require practice and patience. I’m extremely happy with the purchase.

This review is based on using it for a day. I will probably get better at it when I start using it more often. I use it to test loose stones and also jewelry. It work well, but you can get false readings especially on small stones. It also it difficult to use on stone cuts where there it not much of the flat area. It works well for identifying glass and diamond. I will probably buy another tester that can be used for identifying other stones like Garnet, Topaz, etc.

Accurate BUT doesn’t last long - at this price point, I should’ve gotten years out of this tool. However, in less than a year of use, the “ready” light just blinks and it never officially turns on. Very disappointing for the $220+ price point. When it did work, it was great. It was easy to use and very easy to carry around with you. I just fully expected it to last longer.

The tester arrived today and worked well just out of the box ( after installing batteries). It is easy to operate and quickly verified five known diamonds and one known topaz as a non-diamond. You do need to make sure that the tested surfaces are clean which was simple to do by simply wiping the surface of the stone being tested with the supplied cloth. From a "cold" start, it took just a few seconds for the tester to indicate that it was ready to test. There was no waiting period required as I went from stone to stone. I'm quite happy with the unit.

I had high hopes for the Presidium Multi Tester III as an all-in-one instrument for testing diamonds and moissanites, but it left me thoroughly disappointed. 😞 First off, it's not as user-friendly as it claims to be. The instructions are complex, and it takes forever to get the hang of it. Plus, the device itself is bulky and awkward to handle. But the real letdown is its accuracy—or lack thereof. It frequently gives false readings, leaving me questioning the authenticity of my gemstones. It's a nerve-wracking experience, to say the least. Considering the hefty price tag, I expected much better performance. Unfortunately, the Presidium Multi Tester III doesn't live up to the hype. Don't waste your money on this unreliable gem-testing tool. 💔💎❌
