I got this for a secondary phone for a 3-week Europe trip. I was a bit skeptical as this arrived in a beat-up looking envelope and it was labeled 14 days, not 30. Tech support assured me that it was 30 days so off I went to Europe. During the flight I installed the SIM and upon landing I turned on the phone and immediately had service. It had a France number and worked just fine throughout Austria and Italy. Coverage and performance was actually better than my Verizon phone that I thought would be primary. We ended up using mostly this phone instead. If you manage your data by using wi-fi where available and downloading your maps ahead of time, 12GB is plenty for 30 days of travel. So, perfect in every way and way cheaper than buying international coverage (either type) from Verizon.

I tried an ESIM card from another supplier. Fortunately, I tried it before we left to make sure it would work. After numerous contacts with the supplier, it simply didn't work. I ordered this physical SIM and it worked like a charm. Never, in our 28 days in Europe, did we have an issue. Connected perfectly no matter where we were or what transportation we were on. I probably bought more coverage than we needed but I didn't want to worry about it since we were in multiple countries. I will definitely buy it again when we go back to Europe next year, simply for the peace of mind knowing that it works.

Yes， it is "plug in and play", no activation needed. However, carrier Orange keep sending messages to remind you to register the card otherwise it will be expired on 30 days. Just ignore it if you use it only for 30 days.
