Great bar mat! It nicely collects spilled liquid, keeping them from getting on the counters and floors. For clean up, we can quickly rinse it in the sink and it doesn't hold on to sticky liquid residue. It is also cute and has enough surface area to set several drinks and bottles, keeping the counter even cleaner. Great product and we would get it again!

We entertain at our lake cabin a lot, and often serve cocktails. I like using bar mats on the counters, and am really happy with this one. QUALITY The bar mat is very well made. It is thick, heavy-duty, and stylish. The mat does not slip and slide on the granite at all. Once you lay it down, the smooth bottom makes it stay put. The nubs on the mat helps keep glasses and bottles raised up out of any liquid that might have spilled. And, any liquid that does spill, is safely contained within the mat. That's also a plus. The mat is made of rubber, but there is no rubber smell at all. EASY TO CLEAN The mat is easy to clean. IF there is spilled liquid in the mat, I recommend blotting that up first with paper towels, THEN carrying the mat to the sink to be rinsed. This will eliminate any spills that could happen. Rinsing the mat is easy. Because the mat is flexible, I just hang it over a towel holder to allow it to air dry. STYLE and SIZE I like the white stripe around the outside edge of this bar mat. It looks stylish! The black and white matches the decor of our kitchen, so I like that, too. The 12x18 size is large enough for mixing drinks for a crowd, yet small enough that it's easy to store when not in use. Overall, I'm happy with the size and quality of this mat. I definitely recommend it!

You seen these before, or maybe used one if you have ever worked in a restaurant or tended bar. This rubber mat sits in front of a space where you work with drinks of one kind or another, and catch spills. In the home setting, it's a great thing to put in front of the coffee maker, or the electric tea, kettle, or in our case both. Tried using a folded bar towel for a long time, but it didn't always serve the purpose. The space is large enough that people can put down their coffee cup, fill it, spirit, and it Will not run down the cabinet. Although we have this unit oriented horizontally in front of two different drink makers. It would also hold a single coffee maker or similar on top of the mat, while extending the front end of the mat out for placing cups and pouring. Definitely a functional/aesthetic personal preference. For amusement, we double checked to see how much it would actually hold, and I can report that the mat will hold at least 450ml without overflowing. (It might have gone to a full half-liter, but I didn't want to make a big wet mess. :-D) The mat is also touted as the drying mat, and in that respect it would likely work. Water would drip off into the base, and evaporate eventually. We do not use it for this purpose, however. It is not the least expensive one of these available out there, even on Amazon, but it is definitely quite robust, and it's construction and feels like it will last a while. The square grid makes it seem like it may be easier to clean, but the trick is s to always keep it rinsed, especially if anything, viscous spills. One functional negative and one aesthetic negative (for me): Functionally, the listing for this mat says "hand wash only." Implication being you can't just throw it in the dishwasher. There are others out there that claim to be dishwasher, safe, including at least one unit that looks very very similar to this one. It also says not for use on marble services, but doesn't say why. If I had to guess I would say there's something chemically in the mat that could affect the marble surface, since the listing says it is made of 'rubber." For use on our stone counters, therefore, we may explore one of the dishwasher safe silicon variety, but for many purposes, this is a nicely solid mat. Aesthetically, I'm not super fond of the white line around the mat, although it does help see where the mat begins and ends, especially on our black countertop.

I got this for our home coffee bar area that seemed to be forever covered in coffee drips and other debris, and it has been such a great change to our mornings. This gets put into the dishwasher every night to be cleaned which it stands up to beautifully - nothing deformed, no damage, just clean and ready for duty. Each morning, we pull this out of the dishwasher, put it on the counter in front of the coffee machines, and it catches the spills, the overfills, the sweetener “dust” and other small debris all day long. Unlike regular narrow bar mats, the nubs on this mat are not spiky, but are broad enough to support whatever cup, glass or other item placed on it. At the end of the day, we shake the mat over the trash can and then slide it into the bottom rack of the dishwasher with the dinner plates. No special cycle, just normal hot wash, rinse and dry. The size of this mat is generous, so be sure to measure where you want to use it for fit. It’s a little deeper than is ideal, but we’ve decided the significant upsides to this mat make that very slight overhang something we can live with.
