Features

  • ECO-FRIENDLY & SUSTAINABLE - Coir is made of coarse fibers extracted from the husk on the outer shell of coconuts. It is a 100% natural by-product of harvesting coconut that used to be disposed until its benefits were discovered, thus making it both eco-friendly and sustainable.
  • SAFE & ORGANIC - Coco Coir is 100% natural and organic since it only comes from coconuts. Coconuts are extremely abundant and do not need any fertilizers for it to grow. It also does not have any chemicals or toxins that might affect those working with it negatively
  • HYDRATION POWERHOUSE - Coco coir is one of the most effective growing media for water retention out there. It can absorb up to 10x its weight in water, so the the roots of your plants will never get dehydrated.
  • OPTIMUM ENVIRONMENT FOR PLANTS - Coco Coir is sterile - it's a naturally "clean" substance without other stray organisms tainting its affectivity that it is considered to be a very good seed starting medium.
  • A LOT TO OFFER - These bricks weigh a solid 11lbs, a lot of coir to work with. Once hydrated, coco coir has many uses from premium growing mediums for plants, to fluffy absorbent beds for reptiles and animals, or woodchip replacement for composting toilets. Use coir by itself or mix it with additives like perlite to make the perfect seed start mix with unmatched texture and superb water retention and aeration. You can also add compost, woodash, limestone, and more to make your own custom blend

  • A ton packed into this block
I had no idea what I was doing so I went at this thing like a mad man. I tried beating, sawing and chopping but I couldn’t get this stuff to break. The best way to get this apart was to put it into a Rubbermaid (or equivalent) tote and fill it with water. You should scrape the outer layers off every 30 minutes or more. Water won’t soak into this very far as it is so tightly compressed. It seems counterintuitive to get this wet but it is the right way. If you get it too wet, just spread it out and fluff it occasionally, it’ll dry out. This brick is extremely compressed so it was shocking to see how much coconut coir I ended up with. I’m using it for a composting toilet that I built and I have enough to last at least 10-12 months from this 1 block. I definitely suggest this product. I plan to use this in my gardening as well as I’ve read that it’s great to mix into your garden’s soil instead of using peat moss which is quickly being mined into extinction. ... show more

  • Great for Container Gardens, Not-So-Much for Seedlings
This coir is better priced than the other coir I buy, and I buy it for containers, to amend my beds, and any application where I don't need a "fine" product. This is too coarse/stringy for seedlings and the seedlings I have planted using this product struggle to push through. If you're needing to refresh or repot containers, this is more than adequate. It breaks down easily with plenty of water in a large vat. I'll keep buying this but only for those instances where seedlings are not an issue. Also makes for a good base for my worm bins. ... show more

  • Great price
Decent quality for a great price. Don’t select to combine packaging with other items though. If you do everything in the box will be a little dirty. Not an issue with the item though just a warning for buyers. All in all absolutely great item

  • Not 11 pounds of product.
I just received the brick of Premium Coco Coir coconut coir. The shipping weight on the box it arrived in states it weighed 10 pounds shipping weight. After I took it out of the box, I weighed it. 9.10 pounds. I now see in other reviews that others have received less than the stated 11 pounds. I won't be ordering again. ... show more

  • Mushrooms dig it
Bought this brick for my mushroom cultivation and it has no bs with it. I’ve made a lot of tubs with their coir and I have had great success with its magic.

  • Great product
I purchased this a few years back. I mix it in with my potting soil and my plants are thriving. A friend who gardens on a much larger scale asked me about it….so I purchased this last one for her. She thanked me with a pot with an oregano plant using this product. My reason for 4 stars, not five……it’s incredibly difficult to separate. ... show more

  • Nice volume.
This compressed coir did rehydrate easily. However, one 11 pound block is a disadvantage if one is only using small amounts.

  • Good value
I soaked this iny gorilla cart full of water, it filled the cart twice as it expanded. Expansion took a day each fill, but I think the volume was worth the wait. It makes a nice fluffy soil amendment.
