Final update, the angry cricket chittering became a loud grinding noise in less than 60 days from intallation. It is still putting out current, but it sounds like the bearings are self destructing. May have been a defective unit, but I will pass on trying another. Fortunately, it is within Amazon's return window. Update- After about a month of use, the alternator is still working just fine, but the bearings are becoming noisy. A mild chittering noise that is noticeable at idle. I guess we will see how long it holds up. I installed this on a 1999 Jeep Wrangler with 4.0 l engine. Installation was a snap without any fitment issues. I would buy again for dang sure. Comes with a data sheet for what the alternator does. Its rated @117 amps but does 130+. Perfect fit and runs quiet and smooth. UPDATE 9/11/19 Alt is still going strong used a badlands 9k winch on it does pretty good. UPDATE 3/18/21 this thing is still going good! For the price I'll be buying another one! It's been submerged used and abused. Just figured I'd post this update being I've seen the negative reviews. UPDATE 8/27/22 Still have the alt in my jeep and is still going strong. Has been submerged in muddy water, mud, snow, daily diving since I've bought it. Easily put 30k on it now. I'm buying another one for my new xj I just bought yesterday! Nothing but greatness from this budget alt! ... show more
