    • This was a great BRAND NEW part for real!!!
This was clearly a brand new product, unlike the local autoparts store, where the product was clearly rebuilt from salvage, cleaned and painted, (there is a reason why they have a CORE charge and want you OLD part back)... This was a great direct fit OEM type of part, a specification sheet from the QC department also came with it provide the date it was built and tested as well as the amps that was being produced with a certain load... This sold me, a dealer would not even give you this. The installation was smooth and solved my issue with a intermittent battery light popping on at low idle. This does not have a voltage regulator onboard, it is just the charging unit, so do your homework make sure that it is not your voltage regulator or loose connection somewhere before making the time and financial investment.. ... show more

    • Hard to fit the top bolt
As others have said the specs are off a bit its a little too wide to fit in the top bracket. A little filing and a hammer help but its just too wide. Other than that it works great.

This item works well in my 1998 Toyota 4Runner, but it was very hard to install. The top mounting bracket was VERY hard to fit into the 4Runner bracket. I had to file down the ends and bang it in with a hammer to get it into the bracket. The bottom mounting bolt for the adjuster bolt was also very hard, but I was able to get that one in just by pressing up on the adjuster track to get the bolt in. After getting it installed I was able to easily get 14V charging vs my old alternator which was only putting out about 11V. It works well, but damn it was hard to put in! ... show more
