The most important thing I was looking for in a bar was sturdiness so my daughter could use this on her own without me worrying. The very long base is perfect. Just measure out your space because it takes up a lot of room. The piece of mind is worth it, though!

I like the bar set up overall the only thing is that the Matt and the bar structure don’t go together right it needs more supposed on the bottom like a couple other people complained on here about having to cut wood to make it even with the bar that the kids will hit when they dismount from the bar. We love this bar. All of our kids use it and it's strong enough my husband can hang. It does have a large floor space need. Make sure at least 4 ft x 8 ft area. Having multiple kids in gymnastics, this is definitely a need!

I wanted to LOVE this, but it’s taken some work to get close. Our daughter does competitive gymnastics and the bar is her favorite event. We had a previous bar that was similar, but in short it broke and couldn’t be fixed. We purchase this product at the recommendation of her coaches. With that said, the stabilization bars on the floor are pretty thick (1” to be more accurate) so when we put the mat down in it, it was like there was a speed bump under the mat. It was that obvious. There was ZERO way for her to do a back hip circle and land off the bar onto the mat because of this massive “speed bump” under the mat. Guarantee she would’ve either sprained or broke her ankle landing on it- this is with the original mat (teal) and our old mat (pink). Speaking of the mat, it ONLY goes the length of the bars on the floor. This is fine if you’re just playing on the bar, but not fine if you’re practicing for competitive gymnastics and try to fly off the bar and land. Our daughter lands at the end of the mat, again making it unsafe and unrealistic for landing. Therefore, we utilized her old mat which is far longer and exceeds the length of the bar. This was also better in the event that she didn’t stick her landing and falls forward. Now, the bar has a higher weight limit and seems more solid than our previous bar. So I love that. To “resolve” the speed bump, I went to Home Depot and purchased a slab of some sort of pressed wood for $30. It was a 4’ x 8’ slab that was 3/4” thick. I should’ve gone with 1” thick but I didn’t measure properly. I had them cut (two) 27” x 47” pieces as well as a 30” x 47”. The two 27x47 went in the two spaces by the bar (front and back if your hanging on the bar). The third piece I laid in front where she will be landing. Then I placed the mat on top. This alleviated most of the “speed bumps” although not 100% since I measured 1/4” off. I may or may not go get more pieces from HD that measure 1/4” thickness and nail them together. Since the mat is on top, I’m not concerned with flush nails in the board or splinters. You could also purchase a better quality of wood with a smoother finish if you are concerned. Or you could simply purchase another product. I really wanted to love this, but it shouldn’t have taken this much work to get there. Our previous bar did not have this issue. I wish the stabilization bars on the floor we’re thinner so we didn’t have to go through all this trouble. Overall, we’re pretty happy with the product. Just wish we had a level platform for her to land on originally and a longer mat. ... show more

Unfortunately a couple quality issues prevented a 5 star review. Once the bar was assembled and in use I can say that I am very happy with the design and functionality. I seems very stable and rigid when used on a thick carpet. My kids are very happy with it. Overall I was very happy with the quality of the design and construction. It would have taken about an hour to assemble it except one of the holes was drilled off center (see photo). This prevented the holes for the disassembly pin from lining up. So I had to take the part to my workshop and elongate the hole so that it was over the center of the tube. If someone didn't have the tools to do this they would have had to return the part to the manufacturer. This issue added about half an hour to the assembly process. Except for the issue with the off-center hole I think this is a great product and a really good value for the price. ... show more
