  • Good & the not-as-good
The good: *Works with only one connection, USB Type-C (though it comes with a myriad of connectors) *Nice-looking, portable *Clear image -- not as good as the laptop, but not as expensive, either *Powers notebook when USB-C power source is directly connected to the monitor *Will draw power from the notebook when connected via Type-C, but much dimmer image *Good value Not as good: *About 75% as bright as notebook monitor when powered directly by notebook charger *My notebook charger does not appear to sufficiently power the portable monitor even though it meets the OEM's specifications *Customer service is responsive and tries to be helpful, but could not answer my question as to why the red light remained on the monitor even when directly powered by my notebook computer's power adapter *Designed monitor stand is acceptable, but I bought a separate one to guard against accidental knocks I am keeping the monitor, notwithstanding some of the features which I hoped were better. ... show more

  • Good deal for the size and cost.
PRO: Monitor feels sturdy. Buttons have good tactile feel. Magnetic cover stays in place. CON: Advertised resolution is the same as my laptop of the same screen size, however graphics and icons appear significantly larger resulting in a crowded appearance. Control buttons are so close together and small that it makes operating them somewhat difficult. Brightness is not comparable to my laptop display. SUMMARY: Overall a good monitor and great second display for my laptop. Screen resolution issue aside I would buy it again. ... show more

  • Picture quality and sound quality is far beyond expectation
The media could not be loaded. The monitor’s quality is beyond my expectations. When I received the monitor, it comes with some cables that are suitable for usb-c connection. In which it means the charging speed is faster than others. The sound quality is loud and clear. I can watch movie with this monitor and the 4K ultra video quality was by far the best monitor that I have ever owned. I am very satisfied with the purchase. The price is fair with 13inch monitor since it’s light weight and portable that I can put in my truck as a spare monitor for work. ... show more

  • Love this portable screen! Kinda quirky with USB-C
This screen is great. I use it on a Raspberry-Pi 4 and it works great. I do have to power it via USB-C and then connect the HDMI cable as well. I could be doing it wrong but it works. I read somewhere that there is a different version of it with USB-C only so you would only need one cable? Anyway, I like it and it works great for my needs. I think it should be cheaper (under $100). ... show more

  • Great monitor for use and cost
Great side monitor. I'm using it for my PlayStation 4...there might be some minor issue with refreshing where some lighting effects linger when the background is total black. Not a deal breaker for me. Colors look great, it doesn't get very hot, it was relatively inexpensive. The cover it comes with is a passable stand...but I'll be looking for something a little more stable. ... show more

  • Not the same monitor as on the picture
I ordered a Full HD version which is pictured with very thin bezels and I received a monitor with thick bezels. Also my monitor suffers from strong light bleed around the edges and at the same time overall brightness of the monitor is not very high even at brightness set at 100%. On the upside it draws very little power. My galaxy s10 can power it without plugging into a wall ... show more

  • A hidden gem at a low price, I'm ordering a second one
I'm a bit of a windows power user. I write code for a living and I have three monitors for my desktop at home, four monitors for my desktop at work. I also have a very nice laptop but I'm used to having monitors to spread things out on and increase my productivity. My triple monitor desktop is setup in the basement, I don't always want to work in the basement and I also do a fair amount of travel and work on the go. Naturally I eventually found and started shopping for portable monitors. As much as I enjoy having multiple monitors, I do not enjoy complicated setup or tons of cords. Recently I had been mildly sick and I worked from home. I did not want to sit in the basement so I drug two 24 inch monitors up to the kitchen table. Plugged in their power adapters, got USB-C to HDMI adapters plugged into my laptop, and managed to do some work but the huge 24 inch monitors were too large for the little table we have and it wasn't great, the setup and teardown was a pain, etc. Ok, so now I REALLY wanted a couple thin, light, portable monitors... When I found this one I was skeptical. I had actually tried to order a different, more expensive one but they had something goofed up with their listing so I ended up ordering this cheaper one instead. Let me tell you what, they are not advertising this product strong and clear enough. I ordered the first one completely prepared to return it, my list of requirements was high and the product listing was not clear enough to know if it would meet my needs. Well now that I have one, I can confidently tell you its a good one! They have several listed so this review is for the 13.3 inch variant. Its perfect. Checked every box I needed. 1) One-cord power and video works great on my Lenovo Yoga 920. I pulled it out of the box, plugged in the ONE USB-C to USB-C cord, and instantly working. Love it. 2) One-cord power and video works with my PHONE. Now that is unexpected and awesome. I have a Razer phone 2, pretty darn powerful phone but I did not expect it to run this monitor without plugging it into power. Going to be nice for showing people pictures and videos when I don't want to fire up the laptop. 3) Power delivery back to the laptop WORKS! This was the biggie for me and the one I was most nervous about because its not clear in the listing. I can plug the charging cord for my laptop (which is also USB-C) into the monitor and the monitor will in turn back-feed the laptop with power. This is so great, I only have two USB-C ports on my laptop so if I use two monitors I have to be able to charge the laptop via power delivery (PD) with the laptop charger hooked up to the monitor. This works perfectly and I am so pleased. 4) The OTG ports work on my laptop and on my phone. This is great because ports are so limited on my laptop. I can plug a mouse and keyboard into the monitor with the adapters they give you. Very handy when you laptop only has two USB-C ports and one USB-A port! 5) I greatly appreciate that, unlike some competition, they have ALL of the ports on ONE side of the monitor. This will allow me to do portrait mode and avoid some cable mess. 6) They kindly send a bunch of cables and adapters in the box. You get an HDMI cord, a mini-HDMI to HDMI cord, a mini-to-full HDMI adapter, two OTG adapters, a power cable, a USB-C to USB-C cable, a 2.4 amp USB wall plug, so many goodies! Granted, I don't really need any of them as I'm doing the one-cord solution but I may at times hook up older stuff or use the OTG and it was nice of them to include everything you could possibly need. Huge value in this for the price. 7) The case is kinda plastic-looking up close but its nice enough and feels durable. It will definitely protect the screen while its in my backpack and it works good as a stand. 8) The screen and picture quality look great to me. I need 1920x1080 for spreading out code and spreadsheets and other text data. I am not doing photo or video editing or gaming with it BUT it looks very nice and its easy to change brightness using the buttons on the side. It has many other settings but realistically the brightness is the only thing I will ever adjust, they made that the first menu item which is perfect. 9) Metal (aluminum) body should be nice and study. I don't bang my backpack around but I do carry it daily so durability is important to me. Yeah I am glad to say they really nailed it with this one. It was a steal deal when I bought the first one. The price went up about seven bucks after I ordered but now that I've seen how good it is I have placed another order for a second one right away. When you can whip it out of a bag and plug in one cord and be off and running... I have a feeling its going to be a long time before I sit at my basement computer again! And I will be able to work more effectively on the road as well. I wish the product listing was better so I could have been more confident with the first order and bought both at the same time when they were a bit cheaper, but even at the current price these are a great deal for what you are getting. Highly recommend this model. Just remember they have like four different ones and I am only talking about the 13.3 inch USB-C non-touchscreen model, the other versions they sell are probably good too but 13.3 is the size for me, matches my laptop screen so stuff is the same size and scale as I move things between monitors. Get one (or two!) for yourself and enjoy your freedom of workspace location and increased productivity! -------------------------------- One-Week Update: The inexpensive nature of these monitors began showing pretty quickly but overall I am still pleased with them. I did buy a second one, on one of them the buttons on the side are even and perfect, for some reason on the other one half the buttons are recessed so far into the body of the monitor that you need a pen or something to press them, kinda weird but the buttons still work. Both of the monitors have this weird minor issue in that the screen itself seems to be slightly "loose" in the frame. Sometimes you pull them out of the bag and fire them up, part of the bottom right corner of the screen (the clock on windows computers) is cut off because the screen is slipping down into the metal frame just slightly. If you turn it upside down and give it a tap, it goes back into place... Last bit is there is something weird about how power works with them when using two, depending on how you have them hooked up. I can do the one-wire hookup to both of them using the only two USB-C ports on my laptop, cleverly the monitors will use a low-brightness setting when their only power is from the one-wire connection. If you plug in the USB-C charger for the laptop into one of the monitor's power delivery ports then that monitor becomes twice as bright and starts charging the laptop. OK thats great but I want the other monitor to be bright too, so they match, so if you try to use the USB-A to USB-C cord they include to power up the brightness on the second monitor it goes into some crazy blackout loop, it doesn't work regardless of whether you are using a USB-A port off the laptop or a standalone USB charger in the wall. The only way to have both monitors powered and bright at the same time is with each of them having a full 20-volt USB-C laptop charger connected to each of them. That isn't the end of the world, I had hoped to only carry one laptop charger but I guess for a long session with full brightness you kinda need to carry two. Minor blemishes on an otherwise stellar product for the money, but I did notice the price has ran up since I got my two. I still like them a lot and they are both working well, used them for a full day of working from home in the kitchen and other than needing two laptop chargers for even brightness it worked great. I think I could side-step the brightness thing if I used the HDMI input with a USB-C to HDMI adapter out of my laptop instead but I haven't tried that yet. I ordered some right-angle USB-C adapters to avoid the hard turns on the cables, the monitor farthest from the laptop's ports has just enough cable with what they send you to reach but its pulling a bit hard on the port, the right-angle adapter should solve that. USB-OTG still working good for external mouse, keyboard, hooking up memory card readers, etc. ... show more
