Well, they've made a breakthrough with this product. I've used around 5 electric pre-shave products, and this one works the best, and significantly better than the rest. It softens the skin and raises the hairs for a closer shave and it works quickly. It also coats the skin with a protective layer. I use a Panasonic Arc 5 and shave immediately after getting out of the shower. It's almost unbelievable how well this works. The shave time is shortened by about 1 minute (the Arc 5 gives you the shave time) and the shave is so close that it's equivalent to if I shaved against the grain with a DE razor. The most important part is I have absolutely zero irritation. The ingredient that gives the protective layer really works. The only downside for me is the scent. I could do without it. As others have said, it's a cheap Axe type scent and it's really strong. The good thing is that you don't have to use much of this product for the shave. Also, I always wash my face after I shave to get any of the extra product off. I then slap on some aftershave and even after all that I can still smell the Freelette scent, but it's very subtle. Conclusion: Incredible product. It makes the shave more efficient and close and completely eliminates irritation. If they made this unscented it would be perfect, or at the very least decreased the concentration of the scent.

This product works! Unlike several less expensive off-the-shelf brands that I've tried, this one actually delivers an electric shave that is comparable to what I get with my Harry's razor. And with NO RAZOR BURN! My electric shaver is an old Braun. Even with fresh blades, cheaper pre-shaves irritate my skin and leave stubble. Not this product! It carries a light, pleasant, fresh scent that I'm sure most users will enjoy. And it leaves my skin soft. Don't waste your money on the cheap "name" brands when you can get a great shave with this product!

I'm on top of the world with this product. I LOVE IT. I've used other pre-shave prior to this. None. And I repeat, None, can compare to this. I slather it on heavily and shave with my electric razor. I alternate razors. I have a Braun and a Phillips. It doesn't matter which one I use, both razors give me a tremendous result because of this magic substance. I once used William's. After using this gem, I threw that bottle out. Here's my method. I apply it to my skin very literally. I slather it on. I begin to shave while it's still wet. My razor glides over it and gives me the best and closest shave that is just unbelievable. When I'm done shaving. I put a little in my palms and spread that over my sensitive skin. I love this stuff. It's truly amazing!

Product works very well and I've tried several over the years. Does permit a closer shave with far less discomfort. But PLEASE make an unscented version. The scent is not totally unpleasant but it is far too strong and overpowering. And it does not wash off. I usually shower after I shave and wash my face with soap and water but still the scent remains. Unscented would definitely be the way to go.

Wow, the scent isn't subtle. I assume it was created to mask body odor under beating sun in the Negev desert. But it does help to provide an extremely close shave, superior to what I have experienced for years using Williams Lectric Shave, to my astonishment. I only wish the volume were 3 ounces instead of 3.7 so it could be packed in carry-on luggage -- I am desperate to find a product I can use when traveling that securely closes with a screw-top cap.
