Size: 2 Petite Color: Earthbound
I have 3+ pair of the Halle Straights - the original style and fabric. What I loved about the original Zion fabric is that it was a substantial weight without being too hot. The new fabric is lighter weight, a bit smoother - not sure if it would have that "shower curtain cling" effect. I am concerned that this new fabric won't be a durable. The old Zion fabric was bombproof - crab-crawling on slick rock didn't abrade it, never got snagged, and it traveled well. The new style is cut wider in the thigh, so I returned the first pair and ordered another in the next size smaller. That may have been OK, but it was too short (2 short) and there wasn't a regular available. I'm 5'4", 115-118lbs and a 2 regular might have fit. ... show more

    • Disappointing change to a great pant

The Halle Straight ii pant is the 'upgraded' version of the original Halle straight (vs original bootcut version there are two types of Halle) and it disappoints on multiple fronts. Mainly the fit has completely changed. The thigh and seat area were made looser and now look very sloppy, sizing down doesn't adjust as the waist sizes down accordingly and was not adjusted to meet the new seat increase. Why would an already very vanity sized pant be adjusted to be even baggier? I get a 2 in Halle, I'm a solid 4 in all other pants. The fabric already stretched out a bit throughout the day. A good side? The buttons at the fly were upgraded, they're now reinforced. This takes one of the only options for attractive, durable everyday+ pants off the market for a lot of women. Columbia doesn't compare in fit or attractiveness, guess I'll have to move on, Kuhl anyone? ... show more
