    • Spend a few extra dollars and get a different carburetor.
this unit was a replacement for the first one that leaked gas everywhere including my cylinder head which caused my mower to hydro lock. This unit worked properly for 45 minutes. I shut the mower off when I was done mowing. After it had cooled off I wanted to move it into my storage area and it would not start. I removed the carburetor and found that the needle valve was stuck and would not allow fuel to flow. While I realize that this was a low cost carburetor, I would suggest spending a few more $$$ and get a different unit. Unless you enjoy removing and replacing on a regular basis. Had low expectations for a $17 replacement carb. Was very surprised at the quality build on this. Perfect fit, good gasket material and fired first time with no issues and no adjustments needed. Not sure how long it will last but at 17 bucks it cost less than a rebuild kit and saves a lot of time and aggravation. ... show more

Exact replacement for the factory carb on the Kohler SV540 engines found on a slew of riding mowers. I've used this carb twice to replace other foreign carbs. There seems to be something about these SV540s - they will hunt/surge without everything being exactly right. Try this carb first - spend the little bit of extra because it was worth it for me. ... show more
