The key, as others have mentioned, is not to press/scrub hard. Just dip the pumice stone into the water, then rub gently back and forth over a small segment of the stain about 10 times per spot. Dip back into the water, move to the next segment of the stain and repeat. The stain comes completely off. After doing all 4 toilets in the house, the amount of pumice stone that was worn away was hardly any amount (maybe 1/4 inch?) By the way, this works not just for the ring in the toilet, but I also rubbed the pumice stone under the rim where the water inlets are. Those were almost black and after rubbing gently back and forth (feels like you're brushing teeth), they are significantly cleaner. You have to flush once in a while because under the rim tends to be more dirty. I even used it on a rust stain in the sink and was amazed that it removed it nearly completely!

We bought this after my spouse used one when cleaning the ranch bathroom & finding it worked super well. We have hard water where we're at and it leaves awful stains in the toilet. It was so easy to use and our toilet looks 10 times better. Only thing I wish is that it was easier to get it in the bend to clean there because that still looks a little stained. The rest looks great.

I have had a water ring stain and one annoying rust streak in my toilet bowl for well over a year. I tried a lot of cleaners, baking soda/vinegar, etc. but nothing made a dent. I ordered this pumice stone after yet another internet search for a helpful solution. I figured … no big deal … might as well try it. After receiving, unpacking, wetting and scrubbing both stubborn spots for a few minutes each … the stains were gone! Wow! I still have to attack the small rust stain at the lip of the bowl, but now I don’t see the unsightly stains. Yay!

I love that this thing has a handle. It’s pretty sturdy. However, the pumice gets used up really quickly. Not sure if that makes sense but I’ve used it maybe three or four times, granted I had some fairly difficult stains, but the pumice wand is already half gone, almost more than that. Would probably buy again if it was on sale.

I tried using this on a toilet that has a lot of calcium buildup. Didn't really work. The pumice just basically dissolved quickly while scrubbing. In just a few seconds, 1/4 of it was rubbed off. it would probably work ok on mild stains, but not durable enough for major buildup.

This works way better then expected. The only thing that sucks is the sound it makes when scrubing off the stains from the hard water residue, however the scub is effortless and the results are amazing.
