Featuring the style's classic simplicity and sturdy elegance, this piece presents a warm oak veneer, arched bottom rails, and curving shelf supports. Place the armoire in the bedroom, the bathroom, or a walk-in closet, and experience the luxury of finding the right jewel or scarf easily and quickly. Plus, it's wonderful to know that valuables are safely protected from damage and loss, even in the busiest of living spaces. This tall armoire offers four-sided access, beginning with eight drawers stacked vertically down the front. Use the four small drawers for items like rings, bracelets, and watches, and fill the four large drawers with scarves and special lingerie. Each drawer slides open easily with a brushed Mission Gray metal pull and is luxuriously lined with black rayon. On top, a hinged lid opens to a large mirror and another storage area--the perfect spot for regularly used items. For necklaces and chains, two side pocket doors swing out at a touch and each holds two rows of metal hooks. The armoire measures 19-5/8 inches wide by 15-1/4 inches deep by 40-5/8 inches high when closed. It measures 36 inches wide by 15-1/4 inches deep by 55-3/ 4 inches high when open. This armoire is beautiful, and came packaged so well that I was certain there would be no dings or dents! Unfortunately, the piece of furniture must have left the factory without a solid QC check. It's too much trouble to return to Amazon, and I'm not sure I'd get a better one in exchange when looking at all the other purchasers who have had similar experiences. I knew this when I added to cart, but took a chance anyway. If it were just a scratch, I could use a wood marker to cover it, but it's a dent in the actual wood. The pros: Nice craftsman design. Good looking hardware. Drawers line up well. Color is good. It will sit in a lowlight corner of my room so most of the problems are surmountable. The cons: There is a gouge in one of the drawer pulls. The lid is a different tone to the rest of the cabinet. The lid does not stay open so having the mirror is useless. There are marks/ scuffs on corners (see photos). My armoire will be in a low light place so it’s not a dealbreaker but it’s really irritating and speaks to a lack of quality control. The doors do not open properly. The right one is basically non-functional. I will need to buy knobs to make the doors function. Other reviewers have called this out - why has it not been fixed???? The label on the door left adhesive on the wood. This is currently attracting dust. The curved lid supports are dented and scuffed. They were extremely badly wrapped (no padding, each piece was rubbing up against the other). The construction on some areas is very cheap looking - the hinge for the lid, the attachment of the back panel and the dots on the top to provide a soft close for the lid. Who thought it was a good idea to put that color????? Will be replacing those too. But worst of all is the packaging. TERRIBLE! It’s a pure miracle that the cabinet was not a pile of sticks when it arrived. Random pieces of styrofoam…. Bits of cardboard…… I am stunned that other reviewers have called out most of these issues and none of them have been addressed. I would expect a manufacturer to monitor their reviews and correct production and packing problems. But I am extraordinarily surprised that Amazon does not pressure their suppliers to address the problems for future orders. ... show more

After reading the reviews left I was not sure about this purchase but went ahead anyway. It arrived in great condition, no tears or damage. Amazon crew brought to my garage. Easy assembly. All parts included. It did have a few scuffs on the lower front legs. It was easy to fix using a furniture scratch marker to match color, Covered with a matching wax. Some smell from finish but suspect it will go away in a few days. Overall,very pleased with the Armoire. Matches my existing bedroom furniture. I would buy this Powell line again. There was glue all over the inside of the drawers, all of them. The outside is nice, but considering the finishes inside the drawers, it's too expensive, not worth the investment.

I selected this armoire because of the Mission style and color, as well as the nice side door necklace compartments. I read some reviews that suggested the quality was uneven, but there weren't a lot of good options out there, either on Amazon or at my local furniture stores. I was impressed with the shipping time. Using my Amazon Prime acct, the armoire arrived in just three days from placing the order. However, the container was in pretty poor shape, with fist sized holes in several places. Since the item was left at my door while I was at work, I had no opportunity to refuse the package on the spot. When opened, I was pleasantly surprised to see the armoire itself was not damaged, but the box was trashed (kind of made it impossible to send back without a lot of hassle if I chose to return it). The advertising stated that one only needed to assemble the top lid. Actually that was not true. There are also 4 decorative wooden accent pieces that had to be installed near the top which adds some more detail to the Mission style to the piece. They are pressed in to some pre-drilled holes so that wasn't too much trouble. The 4 wooden accent pieces were all damaged, with dents and marred finishes. This seems to be due to the fact they were just thrown into a zip lock baggie with no wrap on each piece to protect them from each other in shipment. The baggie was floating loose in the box. The 5 screws required to mate the lid to the pre-installed hinge were missing, and I had to go to the hardware store and purchase the correct screws. The drawers do not slide smoothly, indicating not much craftsmanship in how the drawer slides are constructed. The felt linings/compartments were OK, but the felt was not all that "luxurious" in thickness, and there were glue overruns where too much adhesive was used on the felt. I was able to remove most of the excess glue. The veneer finish was mostly fine, but again there were some flaws that will drive me back to the hardware store for a furniture coloring pen to fill in the minor finish defects. Overall, the appearance matches our décor, and the piece is heavy enough to function as it should and be attractive. My wife likes it, but wished more of the drawers had dividers/compartments and that at least one of the drawers should have had a section of ring holders (the only ring holders are in the top compartment under the lid). Bottom line...I expected something better for what was "furniture grade" pricing. I don't sense a good value for the money paid. I will be wary of offerings by this manufacturer if this is representative of their product line. ... show more
