First off, the black violin is very sleek and elegant. It definitely stands out and sets itself apart from the traditional brown. The case is equipped with perfect handling, whether that may be you want to carry it by hand or throw it over your back like a backpack and be completely hands free. You definitely get what you pay for. String broke immediately when we attempted to tune it and when we tuned it (with someone experienced in tuning) the violin wouldn’t hold a tune long enough to get through all the strings.

I really like the sparkly black matte finish mine has. That said, like many violins in this price range: * The bridge is not the correct shape * One of the bows included with mine was just bad: you tighten the hair and the stick loses shape * Steel strings are terrible * The rosin was basically unusable The tuner works, but the fact that it only shows the notes for the strings of the instrument you select is kind of confusing. A normal chromatic tuner might be helpful to know how many tones or semi-tones your string is off, not just if it's flat or sharp. At the very least, I would recommend getting a bridge that is properly shaped, new (non-steel) strings, and different rosin. The instrument itself works, the case is decent, and the cleaning cloth isn't bad.

This instrument is exactly what is presented in the online description. The case is lightweight and well constructed. When it arrived, on time without delay, it came with everything necessary to start playing or to start playing again after musicianship dormancy. The only things not included with this violin are a lessen guide, sheet music and the talent to play well. Practice makes perfect! I would definitely recommend this product and would engage this seller for other available instruments in the future.

Violin feels kind of cheap, but I’ve also never seen a violin in person. Got it for my daughter for Christmas, and when she opened it the chin rest was completely cracked down the middle and there was no instruction book like it stated. My daughter is excited to learn how to play, wish they would send a replacement chin rest and the instruction booklet.

My daughter just started music lessons and this is perfect. Quality was way better than I hoped for, shopping online is somewhat sketchy, but I read the reviews and bought it, glad I did. Her teacher helped her set it up and they are working on breaking it in. She loves the sparkle in the black, it's not TOO obvious but enough that she knows it's there. It sounds great and she is excited to learn.

Could not test violin at this time. Your rosin should be soft enough that the bow leaves a dusty path when drawn across the block. If it remains shiny and free of dust, you are unfortunately working with old rosin. Generally, a block of rosin will last for anywhere between six months and two years. This rosin is old.😡
