Well made quality unit, best solar panel unit under 100 watt sunsolar cells but all of these small foldable are overrated on wattage 20 watt to 100 watt most deliver 50% of rated wattage I have tested over 20 units 30 watt to 100 watt and this is the best on quality and wattage If you need 36 watt unit buy this 56 watt unit 36 to 40 watt is the best at high sun that I have gotten I love this unit even though it never delivers the rated 56 watts , but none of these solar panels do all manufactures' never delivery rated wattage

This is crazy good that someone offered up these solar panels for sale. It is a bit heavy, considerably an electronic device I do not want to see injured. Still thinking about how to position it, and it has been the second day: one of those exciting gifts you know you always wanted as a child (at least my support for solar energy has not died with age). This being the portable version that I have been waiting for.

I had been watching this for a while and finally bought it on a prime day deal. I’m so happy I finally bought it. It folds up to the size of an 8x11 piece of paper so, it’s very portable. I bought it to charge my 10,000 mAH power banks. On a partly cloudy day, it topped off one of them (20%) in 2 hours. If it were full sun, I imagine it would have been faster. I’m now charging a portable fan because it’s just cool to use the sun for power/energy! Side note: make sure your cable is capable of fast charge otherwise, no matter how much sun, it will seem to trickle charge.

It came with a manual written in German. I plug my phone or battery into it and the green lights turn red. Is that the was it's supposed to work? Seems well-made, but the lights constantly changing back and forth from red to green is confusing without an English manual.

Bottom line: Worth the discounted price, but has some usability issues. Best used with a properly sized power bank (~100-200Wh that charges at 40W USB-C PD would be the most appropriately sized I think) This is my second portable solar panel, though I got whole house solar earlier this summer so I've done a bit of work educating myself on the matter. As a whole, solar panels are usually rated higher than what you actually get. This unit claims 54W max with USB-C PD output (supports 5V/3A=15W, 9V/3A=27W, 12V/3A=36W, 15V/2.6A=39W according to the blue label on the USB pod). I can confirm with my PD tester/monitor that I do see multiple different voltage outputs as claimed. I struggled a bit to find a device to charge that would harness the full 54W (likely really only 39W) without requiring more power such that it was underpowered. I was able to charge my iPad Pro M1 at around 27W, while my 2018 MacBook Pro (intel) accepted ~40W from the unit but claimed "charging was on hold" so I don't think it could operate and charge at that output level (it requires a 60W brick so 40W isn't enough). I also tried charging a larger 250Wh power station (EcoFlow River 2) over USB-C and it didn't want to charge at all. Kinda bummed about that one. I had medium sized (20,000mAh ~74Wh) power bank that is capable of 65W but it only drew around 25-34W (pictured), but it might have just been the state of charge at the time (note that devices pull the most power in the 10-50% state-of-charge range typically). Minuses: As others noted, a DC direct out of the panel would have been appreciated and useful for power stations with DC solar inputs. The last solar panel fold which is folded first when folding it up often doesn't fold back straight until the sun heats up the hinge a bit, causing the last two panels to be covered. The status LED is on the bottom side of the pod as facing the sun, so it's hard to see when charging, though that does put it in the shade somewhat. A bit confusing was that green means power ready and low draw (< 500mA) and red means higher current draw; at first I thought this meant it wasn't charging and something was wrong. The USB pod doesn't seem like it was the most well thought-out, though the magnetic closure is nice. All solar panels should have a kickstand to aim them perpendicular to the sun the best possible. I had to use an amazon box to prop it up.

I'm comparing 4 different portable solar panels. This one claims the highest watts by far but will not recognize my DeWalt charger. A couple other devices that do charge are at lower charging watts compared to the other solar panels I'm testing. My laptop only gets 1 watt from this panel. My phone gets 2 watts. VERY poor results.

This is the first time I saw my phone register it as being "Super charged". The Ericsity 54 W solar panel is a compact foldable set, dense and heavy with a textured hard fabric backing. It's pretty durable and withstands constant folding. It seems to run ribbon wires encased in the folds between each panel. Each panel is not independent so they must all be unshaded to have proper performance. The magnetic clasp also acts as a charging regulator and port with a USB-C female plug. It comes with a USB-C to A adapter if you need one. To fast charge, you do need a fast charge capable charging cord though. When in full sun, it begins "super charging" my S23 FE phone immediately, taking about 40 mins to charge 50% according to the battery app. It's not much different from a regular fast charge though. However, any shading or not direct sunlight will reduce it to slow charging at 6 hours plus. It's not super consistent and confuses my phone a bit. I recommend using this with a battery pack instead, because it saves any potential damage to your phone and keeps it from overheating in the sunlight. This solar panel gets really hot really fast.
