The chain came packaged nicely in a pink pouch inside a box that opens with a ribbon pull. There was also a page of information included. The chain itself is a really nice quality, it doesn't look cheap. It's a good size, not too delicate and not too thick. Unlike many necklaces, it has a sturdy but narrow clasp that will fit through the loop of most pendants and charms, so you can wear it different ways. It can be dressed up or down, depending on what you pair with it. The length is perfect for wearing with a v-neck shirt. I took off one star for the instructions stating to keep it away from water, sweat, perfume and chemicals and to wipe it off with a cloth after each use. That sounds like a lot of work and limitations for a gold necklace which is worn on your skin, on your neck, where you are likely to sweat. It's odd for a gold chain to not be able to be washed with gentle soap and water. It just seems very fussy for what is normally a simple chain, no pearls or stones.
