I was just given a pendant necklace but the chain was too long (22"). I needed a 20" one. I ordered two to see which I liked better. The first was a standard 20" .8 mm chain. It's nice and does the job. But I just got this 20" "snake chain". I had no idea what a snake chain was, but thought I'd take a chance. This on is .85mm, so slightly thicker than the .8mm. To explain the difference between a standard chain and a snake chain is that you can easily see and feel the links. The snake chain is very smooth and feels great. For you guitarists out there it's the difference between round-wound and flat-wound strings (the latter being the snake chain). I'm going to keep both as we have all sorts of pendants that need chains. I had ordered a 14" standard chain for my wife, but I think I'm going to order this chain in a shorter length as I think she will want to return the other one. ... show more

I update my review, because the seller contacted me after my original post and offered me a full refund. I accepted the offer, and I received a credit within 24 hours. I remain disappointed in the necklace - it was lovely, but useless since the clasp didn't work - but I revise my opinion of the seller: customer service turned out to be excellent, and I would definitely order from this company again. ... show more
