The media could not be loaded. There was no information about this product available. There is no wattage information on the device anywhere, and it plugs in with only a 2-prong plug, so it is not grounded. There are no directions included with the device in the box. The cord is only 6ft or so, I wouldn't feel comfortable with an extension cord so close to the spa. I do not know if it is a low-voltage bulb with an internal transformer or not. I plugged it in and put it in my spa, if I pull it out of the water I can see the light is functioning, and it does work for longer than an hour at a time. I don't know if it is actually effective or not yet . . . I will update my review with additional information. ... show more

    • 10 watts is for an aquarium not a pool
Questionable item claims - this is NOT for a POOL - it will work fine for an aquarium BUT please note the water and lamp should not be in with the fish / it needs to be pumped into and out of the aquarium into an opaque tank or else you can damage your fish and your own eyes - only has two pins - this is unsafe for something that will be in water , lamp should have 3 to 4 pins. this is an OK product for an aquarium used properly and with a lot of caution. Otherwise you risk your own life and the life of other creatures ! ... show more

The theory of the how this product should work is spot on; however, I did not find this product to do as advertised. I have had this plugged in for 48 hours, I saw no change whatsoever in the green water. I then through in shock.
