Although it says pontoon boat, this thing works great on my Bayliner Capri lake/ski boat. The support rod comes in four labeled parts that screw into each other for easy break-down and storage when not in use. The top support spreads pressure off the tarp or boat cover that rests on it, and the bottom support screws in for support and also comes with a big double-sided nylon frisbee looking thing that you can put water-filled baggies in for weighted support. It has three adjustable straps (put the non-hook ends through the slots on the top support and hook the hooks to cleats on your boat forward and aft) to securely fix the unit so it stays in place as you're dragging the boat cover over it. Keep in mind that this stand is not adjustable height-wise, so you'll want to move it forward and back on your boat to get the right shape/angles for water and snow to run off your boat in the winter. This is a great stand, much improved over using one of my ladder golf uprights to hold up the boat cover and tarp when wintering my boat.

I've held off on giving my review in order to give honest feedback for different weather conditions I've encountered over the last couple of weeks, and different ways of using the support pole. In my experience, the straps are absolutely necessary for the pole to remain upright. My after market pontoon cover is too big, so I already have bungees and sandbags to stabilize it. Due to time constraints, the first time I used the support pole, I used it without the sandbag or straps. When I checked it the next morning, it had fallen over (the cover was still secure). There was no rain that night, just light winds. Next, I removed one section of pole, added the sandbag, and relocated it to a different area of the pontoon. It fit very snugly between the cover and the cushion. That evening we had a pretty heavy downpour, but no high winds. The next morning, again, the support pole had fallen over. Is adding the straps a big deal? No. For me, the pole not telescoping is more inconvenient. Having to unscrew the segments to stow them away when I take the pontoon out is kind of a hassle. But it does it's job in keeping the cover up and diverting the rain, so there's that.

This boat cover post is super easy to assemble. It's really sturdy one it's set up compared to others I've used because of the weighted part at the bottom. It comes with everything you need to get it set up and prop your boat cover up. My only complaint is that the top disk doesn't feel super strong. It seems like it may crack over time from the tension of the boat cover being pulled down on top of it. It will definitely get the job done either way and funtions perfectly though.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5) I received this Pontoon Boat Cover Support Pole through the Amazon Vine program, and overall I’m very happy with it so far. The pole is easy to assemble thanks to its sectional design, and the stainless steel construction feels sturdy. The included webbing straps and weight bag do a good job of keeping the support stable, even on breezy days. Once set up, it provides a nice peak in the middle of the boat cover, which helps shed rainwater and prevents pooling, exactly what I needed. That said, while it works great right now, I’m not 100% sure how it will hold up in the long run. Exposure to sun, wind, and constant tension can be tough on gear like this, and only time will tell how durable it really is. For now though, it’s doing its job very well, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a straightforward, effective way to support their boat cover.

This is a pontoon boat cover support pole. It is extendable and stable. It comes with a weight sack that you fill with sand. We do not have a boat, but we use this on our front porch where are sail swoops down and hits our head a little bit. This support pole lifts it up just enough. We get a lot of wind and sometimes the occasional storm and this pole lasts through it all! It is great quality and very durable! This is very easy to set up and it functions great! This is a good quality support pole!

Great quality and a must-have for any boat owner looking to keep the weather off their boat during the off-season. This product helps prevent water buildup from collecting on top of the boat cover. It’s versatile and can be used on bass boats, pontoons, or jon boats. In my case, it was a little too tall, but I simply removed one section and it fit perfectly. Highly recommend!

The media could not be loaded. I got this for my ski boat. It works just as well with any cover It has several links that you screwed together. In my case, I threw away one of the pieces because I didn’t need it to be that tall. This makes it somewhat adjustable. But it’s not the perfect height. It comes with a base that I guess you can fill with sand to make it a weighted base so that is less likely to tip over. But I find out the friction of the cover makes it so that I don’t need to weight the base. I wish I had gotten a two pack, one for the front and one for the rear. I think that would be much more useful. Overall, this is a great little item and I highly recommend
