I had to talk my husband into spending the money to buy this watch as he loves to pinch pennies. He has been wearing it every day, to the gym, physical therapy, and to the cold, cold springs here in Florida. A week ago the watch stopped working after 2 1/2 hours of swimming in the springs, and my husband thought it was a goner. I looked online and got the information on how to reset the watch, 10 seconds of holding the red button and the watch reset perfectly. We are assuming the watch froze because of the constant swimming/activity for 2 1/2 hours (memory full?) in 72 degree water. It is definitely waterproof! ... show more

Overall an okay watch with a few interesting features Note: I was upgrading from an M430 What I liked: The new features that the M430 didn't have Lightweight Great Battery Life Color Display You can pair third-party sensors What I was Disappointed With: Many of the good features from the M430 were discontinued like personal best, recovery status, how the watch face showed handy information when paused during a session, and a few other things The screen is not very scratch-resistant The buttons are kind of hard feeling to press The watch band looks very cheap and doesn't match the watch The text during a training session is harder to see compared to the M430 ... show more

This watch has really grown on me and this is my third time buying it. I returned it in the past because I paid almost full price and the screen is dim for the price. Now that it is under $120 it is worth every penny once you get past the dim screen indoors. As other have said, the screen is amazing in the sun when running and swimming. From a marathon runner's perspective, I love seeing how I am improving with the running index and training load pro. The sleep metrics are also very good and are a bit overwhelming at first. But once you find the data that helps you to want to sleep better it is fun to look at them. I love that there are both browser and phone apps so you can see the big picture. The heart rate, sleep and GPS are very accurate and because this is a 4-year-old model it has been fine-tuned over the years to be a great watch. The M2 is barely an upgrade to this model for me. The shipping was so fast and the watch is brand new. The only thing not accurate is this is not a touch screen and is button only navigation which I prefer. I am pretty happy with this watch, it is an upgrade fom my Polar Unite watch. The description on this page says touchscreen but that is not correct, you navigate the screens with buttons. Battery life is much improved over the Unite, this one after 9 days of normal use for me its down to 19 percent. GPS is very accurate, I go for a walk and using the Polar Flow app on my phone I can see a map of my route and I can even tell where I crossed the street from one side to the other. My only gripe about this watch is it is a bit hard to read without my reading glasses in dim light, but it does have a backlight button so that helps...but outside in daylight the screen is very easy to read. Heart rate and sleep tracking seem pretty good too. All in all a good watch for the price. ... show more

I bought this to replace a Polar Unite that was less than a year old (the wriststap popped open and it fell to the tile floor and the LCD shattered) this watch has been an EXCELLENT replacent. I found the touch screen on the Unite to cause more issues than convienience, the button only operation on this unit is preferable to me. The traditional style watch strap is definately considered as a positive thing to me. The accuracy, ease of use, and integration with polar flow is excellent as seems to be the norm for polar. Given the discount price of the Vantage now that the Vantage 2 is out, I'd say this one in an excellent value. ... show more

This is a great watch. You can wear it on your wrist and it features an adjustable strap which allows the wearer to achieve either a snug or loose fit. The accuracy rating of this watch is five stars, it is one accurate watch. It also has battery life. If you are a person who likes working out, then this watch is for you. Had this watch been shipped by any other carrier than DSL, I would be wearing it on my wrist right now and long into the future. I will buy this watch many times. ... show more
