I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this chest HR monitor. Some of the reviews indicated that pairing could be difficult with a smart watch. I use an Apple Watch and watched a YouTube video before attempting to pair my device so that I didn’t have any issues. I’m glad I did! All you have to do is clip the Polar H10 monitor into place on the strap, clip the strap onto yourself, and then go into your Apple Watch bluetooth settings and find the device. From there, click on the Polar H10 option under “Health Devices.” I didn’t attempt to download any additional health/Polar app. It’s worked perfectly for me! I've been so incredibly disappointed with my h10. My first sensor was the h9. I used it for approximately 7 years without problem. I have owned this h10 for exactly one year and I've already had to send it in once for repair/replacement because it wouldn't connect to my devices. The sensor wasn't registering that a battery was in it. A replacement was sent to me from Polar and the replacement has the exact same issue. Every single use I have to put a new battery in it before it will connect you any of the polar apps. Doesn't even have to be a brand new battery it could be the one I had in two days ago. And who knows, maybe it's not an issue with the sensor. Maybe it's an issue with their app, I can't say, but I do know that it makes me very frustrated at the start of all of my workouts. The Polar H10 solved the 3 big problems I have been having with other HRMs. 1. The Polar H10 gives consistent readings not impacted by steps. My Garmin optical HRM (watch) often picks up my steps as a heart beat and records that as my heart rate. If I’m running at 180 steps per minute that can make for crazy false jumps in HR. 2. The Polar H10 sends a signal via Bluetooth and ANT+. That means my Garmin watch will record the signal as well as my treadmill or phone with no interference. 3. The Polar H10 signal doesn’t drop out. My Wahoo HRM chest strap often drops signal and it’s a struggle to reconnect. I ordered the small. My chest measures approximately 28” where I wear the band. The strap is relatively comfortable for a HRM. Doesn’t cut into my skin. I like the adjustability and that this comes in a smaller size - great for women! ... show more

Disappointed! I have a 44inch chest the XXL is a joke - not close to fitting. I had to buy a third party strap from heartrateusa. On top of it all, the strap reads 30 bpm to fast on my pacemaster gold elite treadmill. My 30 year old chest strap from polar pairs and is more accurate. Not sure what my old strap model is, P31 or something similar. Too much trouble for me to send it back. I'll keep trying to find something that it works with accurately, but not holding my breath. By the way, checked it with my wife's pulse/ox which gets checked every week by a medical person. ... show more
