Description

The newest chapters in the Pokémon series are coming to the Nintendo Switch system later this year. Catch, battle, and train Pokémon in the Paldea Region, a vast land filled with lakes, towering peaks, wastelands, small towns, and sprawling cities. There is no set path, so you can adventure freely through three grand stories. In one such story, you can challenge Pokémon Gyms in any order you desire as you aim for the Champion Rank! Explore a wide-open world at your own pace and traverse land, water, and air by riding on a form- shifting Legendary Pokémon—Koraidon in Pokémon Scarlet and Miraidon in Pokémon Violet. Choose either Sprigatito, Fuecoco, or Quaxly, to be your first partner Pokémon before setting off on your journey through Paldea. Pokémon in the Paldea region have the ability to Terastallize to gain special power. When a Pokémon Terastallizes, a Tera Jewel appears above its head like a crown, and the Pokémon’s body glistens like a cut gemstone. Each Pokémon has a Tera Type that remains inactive until the Pokémon Terastallizes. For example, most Eevee will have a Normal Tera Type, but some other Eevee have a Flying Tera Type! When a Terastallized Pokémon uses a move that matches its Tera Type and at least one of its original types, the boost to that move’s power will be even greater! Terastallizing holds the key to victory or defeat in battles in the Paldea region. The Paldea Region is home to a prestigious school where people from all sorts of regions come to hone their skills against each other, be it through academics or Pokémon battles. In Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, the name of the school, its emblem, its uniforms, and other details will differ depending on which game version you’re playing. Take classes with unique teachers who will show you what they know about battling, Pokémon biology, and more. Embark on an independent study called the Treasure Hunt to gain new experiences, meet new people, and find your very own treasure.

  • Okay game. Cost the same as buying them seperate.
Platform For Display: Nintendo Switch Edition: Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet D...
I bought my two kids a Switch for Christmas, and this made the perfect gift to include. They could each pick one and play. It came with 2 codes for additional pokeballs. Each code provided 100 pokeballs each. I remember when Pokemon first came out in the US, so I played as well. The game is interesting but I got bored after a couple of hours. My daughter was the same but my son played for several weeks. ... show more

Have not played the games yet, but they do work. Bought these for restarting my Pokémon collection, and I strongly recommend buying the double pack over singles.

6 year old's favorite game & I can play with her. Game wise its cool how we can play together & do entirely different things. Product wise has been durable so far from a kid who is a bit careless & slightly destructive.

  • Dispite its glitches and performance issues it is still a fun game.
Platform For Display: Nintendo Switch Edition: Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet D...
So far I am still at the very beginning of the game, but what I have seen so far it is really good content wise. You are able to participate in three different storylines and each have their own perks, but you have some freedom to choose which one you want to follow or receive assistance from Nurse Joy at the pokemon centers that are pretty much everywhere. Just be mindful that there is no area scaling! You can run into level 50 pokemon where there are level 30 pokemon I found that out the hardway. I do like how encounters are no longer random and you can pick and choose the pokemon you want to capture or fight in the wild. Just sometimes you have line of sight issues where an encounter is triggered without you being around the pokemon. I have had that happen quite a few times and it can get to be frustrating when you have pokemon that are in need to be healed. The performance issues and glitches are very noticeable from characters and objects in the background the framerate drops significantly the further you get away. The pokemon are good ironically it is just the humans and objects that have frame rate drops. Another is the loading of areas some do not properly load in correctly or as sharply and defined as they should. I suggest making sure your auto save is on at all times just in case you come across a glitch that may break your game. I nearly had one in one area where the pokemon you ride got stuck on part of the map and glitched out. To fix it I just got off of the pokemon and it reset that area, but I have had times where the camera will clip through the map and I had a character materialize and then disappear. This game does have issues, but if there are a few patches to come and stabilize the game then I may bring up my rating, but overall it is a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars. The performance issues and the lack of general direction for parts of the storyline in the game take away from the experience of a really good classic turn based rpg. Edited: Added more information as I am currently playing the game as of this time. 7/21/25 update: I have finished the game and all the DLC. The game is okay, but the DLC is where you are mostly going to be post story. The Switch 2 fixes the stuttering and graphics issues and runs smoothly, so this should be a Switch 2 game only if you want to not have the performance issues. ... show more

  • This has become one of my favorite pokemon games yet!
Platform For Display: Nintendo Switch Edition: Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet D...
I didn't think I'd like these games. I started playing ORAS and have always been partial to those games. It took a little bit to get used to the controls and the open world gameplay but I fell in love with it once I did. I've played most pokemon games available on the 3ds and Switch. This became addicting really quick. And I'd advise getting the DLC content as well. The controls are intuitive and really help and enhance gameplay. The freedom allowed by the open world makes the game challenging and you can easily get yourself in a bit too deep if you're not too careful but that actually made it fun to me. My only real negative is that the 3d renders of some of the pokemon feel a little plasticy to me. I plan on buying this set again to allow my children to play with me and explore the cooperative play more fully since we own 4 switch systems between us. Love it! ❤️ ... show more
