- To catch Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, you can observe them to learn their behaviour, then carefully sneak up, aim your Poke Ball and let fly! You can also have your ally Pokemon battle wild Pokemon that you hope to catch. Just throw the Poke Ball holding your ally Pokemon near a wild Pokemon, and youll seamlessly enter battle and command your Pokemon by choosing from moves it knows.
- As you start off on your adventure to create the regions first Pokedex, youll be able to choose Rowlet, Cyndaquil, or Oshawott as a partner. These three Pokemon arrived with a Pokemon Professor, who encountered them on research excursions to various regions.

This game blew me away. I'm in my thirties and hadn't played a Pokemon game since the yellow edition on Gameboy Color as a kid - not even Pokemon GO. I highly recommend this game to Pokemon fans (especially for the more experienced player that can operate the controller sufficiently, as opposed to a young kid who is still learning coordination and holding the controller). Have some patience to get through the story setup and you should be enjoying yourself in no time. The controls are more advanced than I expected, and in the best way possible. It makes for a very engaging, immersive, and interactive experience. You can control so much of your character (i.e. aiming and throwing the Pokeballs, luring or dodging wild Pokemon, and engaging with the environment around you). Plus, I think the story is very creative and fresh. Overall, great game. Good challenge, very fun, endlessly playable, very happy with my purchase.

The game is fun and honestly one of the better new gimmicks that pokemon has tried in the past few generations, the game is unforgiving after passing a certain level, but I feel that gives the game its genuine charm and healthy amount of challenge. The frame rate can be very sluggish in high textured areas, even with the updates they have made since launch, but it is in no way game breaking. I have had a lot of clipping or pokemon appear or register out of walking areas of the map, but it has never happened in a way where I was forced to reset to continue. It's worth a try in my opinion but don't expect botw level graphics and polish.
